Chapter 1: The Big Birthday Surprise

Jamie's P.O.V.
It's my birthday! I'm finally 17. My friend Abby is coming over. I haven't seen her in 3 months. She says she has a big surprise for me.

I heard a car door shut. I slip on my Uggs and run outside into the cold, New York air. I jumped and hugged her.

"Abs! I missed you!"
"I know! I'm never gonna be gone that long again!"
"Good I went crazy without you!"
"I'm here now. Are you packed and ready? Our flight leaves at 10:00."
"Yes, I'm ready for Cali!"
"Good. Let's pack the car"

Abby was taking me to California for my birthday. She said she had a big surprise when we got there.

Recently I have been on YouTube a lot. I came across this channel called O2L. I've watched like every single one of their videos on there. Sam and Jc are my favorites. Well, I didn't find them, Abby did, but I love them anyways.

Abby and I packed the car for tomorrow. We agreed on pizza and Netflix. We watched some of my favorite movies like The Breakfast Club, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, and My Girl. We both got tired and went to be around 12:00.

I got up at about 8. I took a shower. I blow dried my hair and left it natural since when we get there we are going to the hotel and that's it. I did my makeup and put on my clothes. I wore my pink skinny jeans, blue tank top, tribal scarf , grey vans, and diamond earrings that my grandpa bought me.

I walked downstairs to the guest bedroom where Abby stayed last night. She was in the shower so I yelled to her.

"I'm going to Starbucks! Want anything?"
"Yeah! Get me my usual with a muffin!"
"Okay! See you soon!"

I grabbed my penny board and phone and headed to Starbucks. It probably took about 5 minutes to get there. I ordered our breakfast and rode my penny board home. It was almost time for us to leave.

I gave Abby her breakfast and we went and got the last little essentials. We walked out the door and locked the apartment. We were on our way.

"Can I know my surprise yet?"
"No, wait until we get there."
"Okay. Cali here we come!"

We got to the airport and went through all the security that we needed to. We boarded the plane and found our seats. When the plane took off I almost peed my pants.

Once we got into the air I got situated. I sat there and thought to myself "wow I'm a lot like Connor, I love taking pictures wherever I am" as I was taking a picture of the planes wing and the clouds surrounding it.

I put my headphones in and listened to my music while sleeping on Abby's shoulder. I slept the entire time we were on the plane.

Abby woke me up by shaking me. "Wake up chica! We are in Cali!"
"Yes!!"
"Come on, let's go." She said while laughing.

We got our bags and called for a taxi. We waited in the nice, warm L.A. air. When the taxi got there we drove to the hotel and got our room. We went up to our room and unpacked.

"I can't believe you did this for me!"
"It's for your birthday. I would do anything for you for your birthday."
"So when do I get my surprise?" I said excitedly.
"Tomorrow morning!"
"Yay! I can't wait for it!"

I decided that since I wanted to see the ocean at night that I might as well do it then. I changed out of my clothes and into my pajamas. I wore my blue and white pompom shorts and grey t-shirt with my grey flip flops. I grabbed my key and phone and left.

I went down to the beach. I walked along the shore and scrolled through Twitter. I started to get cold and it started getting late so I went back to my room. I was gonna have a blast the 2 months that we were gonna be here. I kicked off my flip flops and opened the windows. I crawled in bed and laid there. I was super excited for my surprise tomorrow! Thinking about that I drifted to sleep.
