Cupcakes and Coffee

8:00am and customers are already waiting to be attended too in the bank, but you know now in this country you need to know someone who knows someone.

Peter called, “A..... Amanda right?”,

( Chiamanda turns to see who called her),.  

“It's Chiamanda, but Yes can I help you?”. Chiamanda replied.

“Oh I'm sorry, Chiamanda.(Peter quickly corrected himself) Ummmm you don't recall the face?”. Peter asked.

“No, I'm sorry please assist me in recalling”, She said.

“I'm Peter, Peter Coker i ran for the post of the SUG( Student Union Government) president back in university”, Peter explained.

Chiamanda replied “Oh my God, Peter Coker? what are you doing here?”

A security man walks up to them "Excuse me kindly reduce your voice"

Peter replied “I'm sorry, ( Facing Chiamanda) I'm collecting my statement of account for last month. How about you?”

“Trying to renew my ATM card jare”, She answered.

Peter who was done with what he came for decided to wait for Chiamanda while she sorts out her atm card.

Chiamanda surprised “Ahhh!! you didn't leave? Thought you collected the stuff?”

“Oh yes I did but I was waiting for you”, He replied.

Both walk out through the elevator and stops to discuss.

Peter asked “so where are you going to from here?”

Chiamanda replies “My mini office.”

"Mini office?" Peter wonders.

“Yes! My mini office. Strange?” She asked.

Peter said “I don't know till I see it, but the description of it is kinda weird tho.”

“Oh okay oo, ( She turns to flag a bus) I guess we will see some other time, Have a nice day Peter.” Chiamanda replies

Peter asking “Can I drive you to your  Mini Office? Maybe then I could know if it's strange or not”.

Chiamanda chuckled and said  “No wahala”.

They both got into Peter's car and he drove down to Chiamanda's mini office.

Chiamanda said “Come inside ( Inhales) Welcome to my "Mini office"
So what do you think?”.

“Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, ( chuckles) this is really a "Mini Office". It's a nice comfy place, what do you do here?” Peter asked.

Chiamanda replies “ I'm a blogger and this is where I hide to do my online works, thank you it's really a comfy place. Please sit down”.

Peter who is still surprised on how comfy the mini office looks like finally gets to sit down.

“ I have Coffee and I could order cupcakes, don't judge me these stuffs do keep me company tho”, Chiamanda said.

Peter replies, “Its fine and for the records I do cupcakes too, so I'm not judging you Miss.”

“Interesting! Since you like cupcakes I have a plug and trust me you will love it” Chiamanda replied.

Chiamanda picks up her phone trying to place a call to Anne's Cuisine for the cupcakes.

“Hey Anne, how are you? I'm fine thank you.  So i want to order for cupcakes the 6 in 1 row, Yes please! Two packs please, sure I'm making a transfer now Thank you.”  Chiamanda hangs up and Drops phone.

“So what exactly do you blog about, Chiamanda?” Peter asked.

Chiamanda replies “ Music, lifestyle, medical and so on. Anything entertaining”.

Peter looking confused asked, “Whats entertaining about Medical stuffs?”

“Well we need to be updated of the different types of sickness and not be left out so I guess it's entertaining to learn ” She said.

“Hmm, I see” He replied.

“So What you doing here, are you running for something or campaigning for someone?” She jokingly asked.

“( laughs) Oh no, well I'm an engineer and I got transferred to come monitor a job here in Imo state” Peter responded.

A knock on the door and she stands to check on who.

“Oh! Hi ( Takes the package from the Delivery guy), thank you”. She said with a smile on her face.

She drops the package on the table and hands over a pack of cupcake to Peter and keeps hers aside to prepare two cups of coffee. Hands Peter a cup and sits down.

Peter Said “ Thank you,( Surprised) wow!!This cupcake is lit”

“I told you I have a plug. So why did you stop politics? You really were into it while in school, abi your motivation don finish?” She asked.

He replied, “Which motivation? ( Both laughs), The truth is I actually ran for the SUG position because I wanted a girl to notice me ( Hides face).

“Notice you? God ooooooo!!!!! Was that the trend? So did she notice you? Why didn't you just go to her rather than stress your self campaigning”, She asked.

“i was shy and my liver never mature that time na” Peter said.

“Now that your liver has grown, how far? How did it end? Come first how old were you then that you couldn't walk up to her?”  Chiamanda asked

He responded, “Lol, I was 25. Ended in tears I guess and I haven't seen her in years”.

“Oh I'm sorry, have you checked Facebook or Instagram? Since Twitter has been banned at least she should be out there, except she's married then you will have to think of running another campaign oo”.

“What if she has changed her name, How about you? Why did you leave Lagos?Are you in a relationship? What do you do for fun?” Peter asked

Chiamanda replies, “Well, I left lagos because I needed to start afresh and coming back home was a decision I had to make my family still resides in Lagos. I'm not in any form of ship at the moment, I rather have Cupcakes and coffee for breakfast than heart break for breakfast. I write on my blog for fun”.

Peter checks his wrist watch and stands up to take a bow.

“( Smiles) Thank you so much for the lit breakfast in your mini office, but I have to head out now I got a supervision to do by 12pm and about the lady I don't think it's necessary to check her up on social media” Peter said.

“You Welcome to visit my Mini office for a cupcakes and a cup of Coffee, but Why isn't it necessary to check for her?” Chiamanda asked

Peter Replied “ Cause I found you already, I will see you tomorrow”

Opens door and leaves, While Chiamanda has her jaw dropped.
