Tim closed the door behind him and smiled to himself. His mother turned from around the corner, watching him closely.
"Hey son," she called. Tim seemed lost in his world with a goofy grin plastered across his face as he leaned against the door. His mother stepped closer to him waving her hand in his face. "Hey. Tim!" she said as she got close to his face.
Tim snapped back to reality in an instant. "Yeah . . . what?" he asked looking perplexed at his mom.
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay, you seemed dazed," his mom replied.
"Oh, yeah I'm good, just excited for this project," he grinned while beginning up the stairs.
His mom smiled brightly as Tim began his sprint to his room. Once he got in he realized how unprofessional he was dressed. These could reach millions of kids, the least he could do was look a little nicer than an airport outfit. He switched his sweats for jeans and found a shirt that matched the video's theme before grabbing his laptop and barrelling out of the house.
"Look at you all nice!" Moby teased.
"Oh please, let's just work on the video," Tim answered as they walked across the street. "Do you have any backdrops so we can film at your house?" Tim asked.
"Yeah, my parents have some backgrounds and a green screen we can use," Moby replies.
"Perfect," Tim replies. He had never had professional backdrops in a video before. Inviting Moby to work was a great idea.
They reached Moby's house and Moby moved to open the door for Tim with a bow. "M' lord," Moby says. Tim stopped in shock before a small chuckle escaped his lips.
"M'Lady," Tim says as he enters the doorway to the house. They head to Moby's room and begin working on the video. Tim opened his laptop and showed Moby the script while Moby pulled out his storyboards to show Tim his ideas. Before long, both are lost in explaining their ideas for the video, each bouncing ideas off each other. Tim added several jokes to the script thanks to Moby's inspiration and Moby feels inspired by the script to add jokes through the editing. Soon, the sunlight is fading from Moby's window as the 2 begin the filming and editing process.
Eventually, Tim looked up from the computer and saw the time. "Damn," he muttered under his breath.
"What is it?" Moby asked.
"I just didn't realize we had been working for so long, it seems like no time passed at all," Tim says.
Moby smiles and nods his head in agreement. At this rate, we'll be able to do weekly uploads! Moby responds. "Y'know, I've been watching some of your previous episodes, and they're really cool."
Tim looks down and blushes. "Thanks, I'm glad you like it," he replied. "I always wanted to help kids learn about obscure topics so this show taking off has been surreal."
Moby chuckles. "Yeah, it's like I can feel your passion through the screen. I wish I could be in front of the camera to give that to the kids too," Moby lamented.
"Well, what if we both are in frame next video?" Tim asked. Moby's eyes light up and his 3 blue buttons light up simultaneously.
"No way, are you sure?" he asked.
"Yeah. Besides, it would be nice to bounce jokes off another person instead of feeling like I'm doing stand-up every video," Tim replied. "In fact, let's work on the next script together."
Moby nods enthusiastically pulls out his phone and opens a new contact before gesturing for Tim to add his number. "I can't wait," Moby said as Tim entered his number.
Suddenly, Moby's face falls. A non-distinguishable curse beeps through the room and Moby stands straight up. "Crap! I forgot to text Julie all day," Moby cried. Time looked up from the computer, surprised by Moby's sudden outburst.
"Is everything alright?" Tim asks timidly, despite knowing by Moby's reaction its probably not.
"Not right now, I need to text her or she'll freak out," Moby said. "I promise I'll finish the video tomorrow but right now I need to call her."
"Of course, no worries," Tim said, a little confused. Granted, he had never been in a relationship, but shouldn't a partner be more understanding? He closed his laptop and began to pack up. "I'll text you later tonight about the next topic. Let me know if you need anything!" Tim waved at Moby, even though Moby seemed to be preoccupied.
"Yeah, see you tomorrow," Moby calls out, not bothering to hide his downcast mood. Tim grabbed his things and began his journey back to his house. It seemed rude to interrupt Moby's work. They could have finished their video tonight and had the weekend off. Of course, Tim realized it was rude himself to want to meddle in Moby's relationship. Tim had no skin in the game, so why did he feel a little tug in his heart when he thought about Moby's sad expression?
