Days have passed now and it's been hard, but it's been getting easier and easier, hour by hour.
Max stands and knocks on the door, I look up and witness him leaning against the doorframe with his arms now folded.
"Hey." He slams down the silence and wakes up the room with his voice.
"Hey." I repeat folding papers away into their right areas.
"So, Jonas is with us at the docks later, you coming or not?" He raises his brow at me and I take in a deep breath.
"Yeah, I'll be there." I secretly don't want to. But what choice do I have? -Not a lot.
Max exists out of the doorway and leaves it completely empty.
"Jayden!" My father exclaims loudly and I instantly know that I must get up and follow the echo of his voice.
I roam out of my office and find my father stood next to the stairs with a smile on his face.
"Yes?" I ask and raise my brow.
"I suggest you go out with Lillian tonight and maybe Amy." I roll my eyes but my father nudges my shoulder.
"Stop being like that, you'll have to have fun-"
"-But I'm going to the docks later with Jonas and Max." I interrupt to save myself, I definitely didn't want to go to the docks, but the last thing I want is to hang around with Lillian and Amy. Don't get me wrong they are my friends, but I'm not in the mood to do anything.
"Be quiet Jayden, I didn't raise you to act like a fool, I raised you to be strong and mighty, take this change by the balls and have fun, for fuck sakes." I chuckle at my father's words and he pulls me into a tight hug.
His arms are wrapped around the top part of my torso and I wrap my arms around his waist, nuzzling my face into his chest.
Ever since Liam found me I've been thankful, thankful to have a father figure like him. Unfortunately my mother and sister died and I was forced to be raised by my biological father, but I ran and found Liam.
