ㅤIt wasn't with knives
my heart she tore,
when she brought me
to 𝖉𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖍'𝖘 𝖉𝖔𝖔𝖗.
It wasn't her hands
that had me slain
but she had 𝖐𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖊𝖉 𝖒𝖊
all the same.
Cold and callous
with no remorse,
she turned me to
a 𝖜𝖆𝖑𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖈𝖔𝖗𝖕𝖘𝖊.
And I am imprisoned in
this pain, while she without
the slightest blame,
free to do it 𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖆𝖌𝖆𝖎𝖓.

ㅤAnd then, there was 𝕲𝖆𝖇𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖙𝖙𝖊.
God, everyone wanted Gabriette in a way they could never have her. In the way Farleigh secretly always wanted to do more than just hold her at night when she slept in his bedroom. In the way Venetia wanted to be her so badly, because she'd become more of a daughter to the Catton parents than Venetia ever was. In the way, you, Elspeth, wanted her and your son's relationship to flourish as much as it could in hopes that one day she'd become your daughter-in-law, so you'd let them do and get away with anything - as long as they were in it together. And in the way I wanted her gone so she'd leave Felix's side once and for all.
I liked her, everyone liked her. But I didn't love her. I could never love someone as ugly as Gabriette - she was breathtakingly gorgeous on the outside but like a fruit the bugs have eaten from within. I think she reminded me of myself a lot of the times, and for that reason I could've never loved her, we were too similar.
But 𝕱𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖝 loved her. He really fucking loved her - he was so in love with her that the world ceased to exist when she stood by his side, which was most of the fucking time, unfortunately. I don't think I'd ever seen someone as devoted to another person as Felix was to Gabriette - he would do anything for her. She exuded such a magnetic allure, fully aware of her own appeal. Unapologetically drawn to those who fueled her desires, she could never resist the pull of unattainable lovers. She always found herself entangled with people destined never to reciprocate her affections. Always enticed by cheaters, relentless womanizers, or violence prone assholes - and Felix, was none of those. Yet she fucked with his and so many other's minds, keeping them all on a long leash, but a leash nonetheless, long or not.
She had a saying; 'the sea speaks more honestly to those willing to drown'. She played with us all like the sea plays with its tides-pulling us in, only to retreat. We were mere offerings, tossed about in her whims, like driftwood in the waves.
