the meeting

Alys woke up in his bed, sweating in fear. As soon as he realized he wasn't dreaming anymore, he exhaled. "All just a dream Alys," he said to himself.

He was tossing and turning all night and had just dozed off 2 hours ago. Luckily, it was already 7 am, so he had to leave for school in a bit anyway. Alys had a fear of practically everything, and lately, it's only been getting worse. 2 weeks ago, he moved to the U.S with his family during his senior year, and that was a massive change from the UK, hence the lack of a sleep schedule.

He quickly got up, changed, and went downstairs for breakfast. His dad and brother sat quietly at the table.

"Hey, do you mind taking Benson to and from his new school today? I have to finalize some things and won't be able to." his dad said.

"Oh yeah, of course!" he replied. Alys quickly finished his breakfast and drove them both off to school.

Benson was in 7th grade, so he would go to the middle school, Alys reminded himself. Luckily enough, it was just across the street from the high school. Finally, they arrived.

"Woah," Benson gasped, "this is so much different than the schools back in Brighton!"

As soon as Alys turned around, he saw his brother's point. The schools were enormous, and both had about 3 or 4 floors. Still, in awe, Alys waved goodbye to his little brother and headed inside the school.

As he walked through the doors, Alys looked at the school map on his phone. He headed into the office and received his schedule, some supplies, and everything else he would need.

Just as he turned to leave, he bumped into someone with a football in his hand and knocked him into someone wearing a jersey behind them. They all smashed together, hard. Alys' phone fell from his hand and broke on the hard marble floor. "Shit..." He muttered. Unfortunately, the person he bumped into was not as quiet.

"Hey, faggot, look up at me; why don't you?" Alys immediately glanced toward the first. "Great, now that I have your attention, what the actual FUCK was that for?" he semi-shouted.

"I-I'm sorry, I was trying to find my classes with the map on my phone, and I wasn't looking where I was going; it won't happen again," Alys stammered.

"Oh, so you're a fag and new? Do you realize that you could've messed up my hands for playing season with the glass from your phone?" the boy said. Suddenly, his friend with the jersey stepped in.

"Kisa, I think that's enough. He's new, and he already said he won't come near you again. What's your first class?" He asked.

"Um, actually, do you know where B-249 is?" Alys asked, with a bit more confidence than previously.

"Of course! It's at the end of the hallway to the right of us," he replied.

"Thanks! That really helps," Alys says, even starting to forget about the boy with the football, who was practically smoking from his ears at that point. He zips down the hall, careful not to bump into anyone else.

A couple of hours pass, and Alys finally finds his last class. He slowly enters through the closed door, and to his relief, the boy from earlier wasn't there. He quickly took an empty seat next to a girl named "Sena," and by the end of the class they were practically best friends.

Finally, the school day ended, and Alys went to pick up Benson. "Alys Alys Alys, today was literally like the best day ever!" He said in his usual hyperactive way. As soon as he said that, Alys immediately remembered everything said that morning in front of the main office.
"Glad it was for you," he mumbled.
"Fine moody," he giggled, "but I made a new friend named Ren!"
Alys brightened a bit at this, as his brother, despite his cheery disposition, never made many friends.
"You did? If you want, you can invite them over later since mom and dad won't be coming until midnight," Alys said.
"Okay, I'll text him when we get home!" Benson agreed happily.

Finally, they arrived at the house. Benson immediately started typing once they entered and, sure enough, told me Ren had found a ride about 2 minutes later.

After a little while of waiting, there was a knock on the door. Although Alys had long gone into his room by now, he heard Benson open the door. Since Alys was the only "adult" home, he decided it would probably be wise to thank whoever dropped Ren off and give them water or something. Quickly, he changed into something more presentable and went to the living room. As soon as he approached the door, he froze. Forget giving them water; Alys didn't want to come within a mile of them. Standing at the door, boring holes into Alys' soul, was the boy from the office.
