"I'm clearly winning," Gabriel spoke wryly with a shrug, in the presence of Lucifer, Michael, Gadreel, Balthazar, and Castiel.  "I mean, Y/N met me first, and she's totally in love with me."

"It's far too early to tell," Michael quickly quieted the archangel as he crossed his arms over his chest, a glare sent in his direction.  "I haven't received my time to attempt courting our dear human yet."

"The game has just begun, and boys, I can promise you I will be taking the lady's hand in the end," Balthazar chimed in, his accent flowing through each word.  "Sorry, Cas."

"She really liked the breakfast I made her," Castiel shot back at his friend, his gravelly voice holding a hint of agitation towards the other angel's confidence.

"Y/N means the world to me," Gadreel spoke, near desperately.  "Though I do not like the idea of pitting allies against one another, I will not lose to any of you."

"Look at Mr. Softie over here," Lucifer mocked, a laugh slipping past his lips as he rolled his eyes at Gadreel.  "I don't have to try, and I'm going to end up winning out of all of you."

Winning. Each angel and archangel knew of their growing affections, albeit some shorter than others.  Even so, their archaic little game to win Y/N's heart had been a bit of a reach for any of them.  With Gabriel, Castiel, and Lucifer already with their tries, it had been left to Gadreel, Michael, and Balthazar to see if they could outmatch their prior competition.  Though each of them knew deep down that Y/N had not been superficial enough to fall for simple extravagance, the remaining angels had a few tricks up their sleeves.

Balthazar had been first upon their little contest, showing up the evening after the angels' meeting.  Though he did feel the pressure of the competition, he had not let it show upon his face as he flew into your room, a sly smile against his lips.  As soon as he saw the woman smile, he snapped his fingers, wine in one hand, and two glasses upon the table beside you.

"Mon cheri, I thought it would be nice for a relaxing night, just you and I," he spoke, his accent weaving through each syllable.  It had clearly been flirtatious in nature, though it had not been the first time Y/N had drank wine with the angel.  "If you're not too busy doing whatever it is you're doing."

The way his flirtation slipped so smoothly against his lips, paired with his laid back nature, the woman could not help the touch of blush rising upon her cheeks.  "I suppose your company would be far better than reading these stuffy books," she teased in return, wasting no time filling up both their glasses.

Balthazar's approach had not been nearly as over the top as Gabriel, and yet, it was hard for the woman to push off the thought that something strange had been amuck.  Though she enjoyed each of her angels' company, she could not help musing over it, a sour feeling taking over her as she got the first chance alone to think it over.  If she were to be honest with herself, even for a moment, she would realize quickly that something had been up.  With how strange all of them had been acting, though, she was unsure which she could even ask.

Once Michael had taken his turn, arriving at Y/N's in time to make her what he remembered to be her favorite dinner, Y/N's musings had been solidified.  With a y/f/f as a centerpiece upon the table, and Michael's careful eyes looming over her as she ate, she had no doubt in her mind that something had truly been amiss with her angels.  Though she could not deny that Michael's cooking had been fantastic, far better than Castiel's mistaken breakfast he had made her, she could not help that thought looming in the back of her mind.  Upon Michael's departure, she found her cheeks hot as she felt his soft lips plant a chaste kiss against her cheek.

She waited until the morning after, her thoughts spiraling in her head, before she would address it.  Since the only angel who had not tried swooping her off her feet for the time being had been Gadreel, though her stomach swirled with uncertainty, she knew she would have to ask him.  Though she knew not every one of them truly got along with one another, Gadreel had to have at least known something.

That morning, she prayed to him, and it had not been more than a minute before the handsome angel showed up in front of her.  His face held a hint of anxiety, something that was clear to her the moment her eyes locked with his soft blue eyes.  Even so, the moment she heard him simply greet her, she could feel her heart stirring more.  She knew that she loved all of them, and yet, as they teetered the line, she found herself confused, upset, even.

"Gad, you wouldn't lie to me, right?" She asked tentatively, a hint of sheepish insecurity in her tone.  She bit her lip as she mused over how exactly she would even ask the questions that tormented her in her head, let alone that biding question of why Gadreel had yet to try something outlandish.

"Never," he replied quickly, overenthusiastic to emphasize his point as his hands moved with his statement.  "You're the most important person to me, Y/N/N."

Y/N allowed a relieved sigh to slip past her lips, though her words had been far more difficult than simply a promise to speak the truth.  She forced the words past her lips before she could over-think them too much, clearly a discomfort to her tone.  "Why is everyone acting...strange, recently?" She questioned, her gaze shifted away for a moment, before they locked with his gaze once more.  "Did something happen?"

Gadreel's words were far more blunt than he surely intended them to be, and yet they slipped past his lips nonetheless.  "We're all in love with you, Y/N," he spoke, as if if were a known fact.  "It wasn't my idea to make winning you over into a contest, but-."

Y/N's teeth gritted as her brows furrowed.  "Did you just say a contest?" She spoke, attempting not to take all her aggravation and mixed up feelings off on Gadreel.  She could not help the way her mind went over the first words he spoke, and yet, the second clouded her judgment.  Clearly, she would need to have a discussion with all of them.
