please read what's written in boldthis is an "alternative ending" many years into the future this doesn't mean this is actually how the series is going to end I'm writing it now and including it as part of the series as their friendship is already established I can confirm y/n and the group are going to have a happy ending when the series eventually comes to an end this also does not mean the series is anywhere near the end I plan on continuing the series as vlogs come out.

the promise rings. those fucking rings. taunting tubbo whenever he saw you it didn't help you and ranboo were now inseparable. he didn't want to feel this way quite honestly it hurt him to feel this way it was as though you were able to forgive everyone else but him. jealousy was eating away at him. why not him? why did it have to be ranboo? the answer was simple he left, ranboo stuck around. the worst part was that no one else felt this way, Tommy and jack adored you they were constantly hanging around you inviting you to join them for vlogs. he wasted many nights flicking through the scrapbook that the pair of you used to work on, he missed you sitting with him playfully arguing with him on where the picture would look better, he missed when you would go for a drive, 2:30 in the morning singing along to songs from his Spotify playlist. now it hurt to listen to that playlist. let's get one thing straight, he doesn't hate ranboo he hates that he couldn't be what ranboo could. as he would stare at every page he often found himself questioning how he was so oblivious to it. it was always going to be y/n and ranboo. it was never meant to be y/n and tubbo or Tommy or jack. he continued looking through the scrapbook wanting to rip out the pages that were just you and ranboo. the way you would look at ranboo made him realise he was a fool for thinking that he was going to have an active role in your future when ranboo was right there. he was losing you slowly and there was nothing he could do about it. it was his fault for leaving you and ranboo that night. now all he has is a scrapbook filled with memories and a pile of rocks, one from every adventure you went on.

in reality, this wasn't the case, you adored tubbo and were so thankful that he was now back in your life. hell he stayed at your house so much he practically lived there, you even had ranboo help make a promise necklace out of one of the rocks you were planning on giving him later this afternoon.

this is when everything started to go downhill. you were saying your goodbyes to jack and Tommy whilst ranboo was out buying a wooden box for the necklace for tubbo when you received the message.

tubso <3: can we talk now they've left

y/n: of course bo I just have to get something from the bedroom but you can meet me there

you walked in to see tubbo sat on the bed holding the scrapbook tightly to his chest

"oh my god tubso you found the scrapbook can I have a look I've not seen it in years"

"no, it's mine."

"oh I could have sworn we worked on it together but that's okay you can keep it if it makes you happy"

you sat down next to him tugging at the hoodie it was clear to him that you were anxious however you were currently wearing your promise ring which glistened under the light which encouraged him to look at it making his heart hurt

"When did you get that hoodie?"

"oh, it's ranboos he's letting me wear it!!"

you could have sworn you saw tubbo roll his eyes making you start to panic.

"Did something happen recently between the pair of you...I can take it off, you're not acting like yourself are you feeling okay? are you ill?"

he couldn't even look at you he knew he was about to hurt the pair of you. he stood up looking down at you as he reached into his pocket pulling out a stone

"y/n. I can't do this."

you sat in complete silence your heart breaking as he continued his rant not noticing ranboo was back home and stood at the door watching you fight back tears

"I refuse to be second best to ranboo."

"tubbo I don't know what you're talking about you're not second best to anyone"

"I was an idiot to think this friendship would last..here's your rock"

you looked down at the rock in your hands, ranboo walked over to you pulling you into a hug

"tubbo...did you- did you just give y/n the rock they gave you when you first met.."

"you should leave, here take your fucking promise necklace with you"

you passed him the necklace you and ranboo had made for him. your words stung, he wasn't really sure what came over him encouraging him to destroy one of the things that would keep him going.

ranboo knew not to speak he just continued to hold you close to his chest so you could listen to his heartbeat, you needed time to process what just happened. someone who claimed to love you, someone who you loved just left with no warning.

you would never forget this night. no matter how much you wanted to.
