Athanasia's pov

My father of this world was a real psycho.

"Uwaa."

My entire body quivered when I heard rumors about the person who's supposed to be my dad.
According to what I overheard from the maids talking,
This Ruby Palace that I'm currently living in, was originally where the Emperor's concubines lived. In short, it was the Emperor's harem...or so it was until the day I was born, when Emperor killed everyone in rube palace.
My mother was a dancer invited to the royal banquet and she drew his attention and was deflowered by him.
But then she was forgotten and died leaving an infant behind, who was me. Since then, the Emperor has cast me aside too his baby girl. So I was raised by the wind rocking my cradle- I mean the maids of this Ruby Palace.
What's this dirtbag of an Emperor doing trowing his wife and daughter aside?
Leaving a baby like me here, where he committed such a cruel massacre...

After first hearing that story, I had nightmares every night.

However, What more scared me was an Emperor that I've never even met yet. What if he suddenly goes cuckoo again and tries to kill me? Like he killed everyone else who were in here? I should think of something else. I'm scaring myself

"Ung-aung."

The name I got this life was given to me by my birth mother.

The undying Athanasia.

Such a extravagant name for an 'outcast' princess like me.

It's the same name as ill-fated princess in that romance novel "Lovely princes"

I spouse mother meant me to live long and prosperous in the Emperor's care. Unfortunatly the Athanasia from the novel faces a tragic death at 18 and the name made me a bit uncomfortable by her own father the Emperor himself, no less!

"Uhuh."

At that moment, the door suddenly opened and I was completely scared. But thankfully, it was just my maids. The maid unnies looked over at me like I was a complete nuisance.

"Hm?, she's still not sleeping."

"Do we have to stay here? It's not like she can move."

"You know Lilian will make a big deal out of it, how troublesome."

Let's not take it out on me, ladies since you're stuck here too.

"We can just think of it as a break and leave later."

"What if she starts crying?"

"Rock her cradle so she starts sleeping."

Wow, if someone heard them, they would think I always cry. If there's a baby as nice and quiet as me, I'd like to see if there is one!
Lilian was always worrying about me since I was always gurgling instead of crying, but these maids always said those things whenever they saw me.
