While reading the Extra Chapter from Volume 3 of the Rising of the Shield Hero light novel, I've realized The Melromarc royal family is kind of a reflection of Naofumi's family, think of it, the older child was spoiled by one or both of the parents and when said older child is seen as unable to do what the parents wished for them to do all of the older child's responsibilities are forced onto the younger child.
What I'm basically saying is this.
Naofumi = Malty aka Bitch - The only difference here is of course is Malty was turned into the greedy Bitch we all know and hate while Naofumi only became an Otaku.
Naofumi's Parents = King and Queen Melromarc - The only difference here is that Both of Naofumi's parents spoiled him but only to an extent while only King Melromarc spoiled Malty to the point of becoming the horrible person we know today.
Naofumi's Brother = Melty - The difference here was Naofumi's Brother was turned into a Punk when his parents put so much stress on him while Melty took the new responsibilities given to her by her parents head-on.
