Honoria's POV

"Here is the rest of your luggage, Miss Fields. Would you like me to accompany you while you wait for your driver?" The manager helping me with my luggage asked me.

"Nah, I'm good," I replied, taking my stuff out of their hands. I walked up to a bench on the side of the airport and took a seat.

Where is this tool?

My phone started vibrating and when Xander's name popped up on the caller ID, I rolled my eyes.

"What?" I answered bitterly. "I take it you made it there in one piece?" Xander asked me.

"Unfortunately," I retorted.

"Good. Now don't give this guy a hard time. He was nice enough to do Jasper a favor and let you stay at his place during your work trip in LA," Xander warned me firmly.

"This is fucking stupid. I'm a grown woman and you're forcing a babysitter on me. If anyone finds out about this, I'm ruined! Who do you think you are?" I yelled into the phone.

A couple of people standing around me glanced my way and I gave them a dirty look.

"Your older brother. It's my job to protect you. And until I'm sure I won't see you on the news for overdosing on something stupid, I'm not letting you stay by yourself. You're lucky Jasper's friend lives there or I would've come with you myself. And we both know you don't want that," Xander snapped at me.

I huffed.

A car suddenly pulled up beside me. This must be him.

I ended the call without saying goodbye to Xander and tossed it in my purse, trying to peer into the vehicle.

The driver got out of the car and went around it. As soon as I saw him, I groaned.

This guy is a total Caroline! No wonder he's one of Jasper's friends. Everything about him screams surfer boy.

From his golden blonde curls, to the millions of freckles spread across his cheeks and nose, to the bright blue eyes. And he's got such a dopey smile on his face.

How am I going to survive this?

I'm not.

"Hi! You must be Honoria. I'm Sunny! It's nice to meet you," Sunny chirped, waving at me.

His name..

His name is Sunny.

I ignored him and stood up, getting into the passenger seat and leaving him with my luggage. From the corner of my eye, I could see him gathering my stuff and putting them in the trunk.

He's just being polite because it's our first meeting.

Sunny got into the car after putting away my stuff and looked at me. "You must be hungry. Wanna stop somewhere?" He asked gently.

"No," I replied curtly.

"Right. You must be tired. Let's get you home," Sunny smiled as we took off.

He's insufferable.

——

"Welcome home!" Sunny cheered as we entered his house.

Goddamn. Is every room in here a sun room?

As soon we entered, I was nearly blinded by all of the brightness.

The foyer had a shoe rack and mirror, which is a nice touch so I can double check my look on the way out.

We walked into the living room which had these huge windows that showcased all the palm trees outside.

The decor made me want to vomit. It's exactly how I'd picture a surfer living in LA to decorate.
