Jealous?

*Oops i did it again playing in the background* I've done the inevitable again. I swore off fanfiction for this DAMN Magical Boy anime but I fucked up, man, I fucked up. Short, fluffy, drabbly enatsu for ya. <3

"Hey, Atsushi, that student council guy lives a couple houses down, right? Kinshirou?" En stops his mindless scrolling in his phone, looking at his best friend. Atsushi knows that, though his tone is uninterested, he's looking for a serious answer. That doesn't stop the frown that graces his lips at the mention of his childhood friend, though.

"K- Kinshirou? Y-yeah. Yeah, he does." Atsushi says. "Why, do you need to talk to him?"

"No," En says, "Just curious." There's a pause, then, "Did...Did you guys hang out a lot?"

"Well, we were pretty close, so I guess you could say that." Atsushi pushes his glasses up, thinking, "We hung out quite a bit, yeah." En hums, and Atsushi smiles. "Just curious?" En hums again.

"You think I was jealous or something?"

"That would require effort on your part, En-chan," Atsushi says.

"It would be worth it, though." En says.

"What, the physical and mental effort required to be jealous? Or just the prophetical 'it'?"

"Hmm," En hums, "Both, I guess."

"Can someone even be worth both?"

"Yeah, totally," En says, and, upon Atsushi's silence following, "Take it as a compliment, Atsushi."

"Ah, a compliment. Those are hard to come by with you, and I've gotten two in the last week. I must be lucky."

"Not of Kinshirou in general," En says pointedly, "But of Kinshirou and you."

"Oh." Atsushi says. He smiles. "Then I'm definitely lucky."

"Yeah, yeah," En mumbles, and Atsushi chuckles at the flush that dusts the brunette's cheeks, "Like I said; you're worth the effort."

"I'd better be," Atsushi laughs, "Or else I need to go find a new boyfriend." He presses a kiss to En's forehead.

"You'd never replace me..." En mumbles. Then, as he settles back onto the couch, laying his head in Atsushi's lap, he whispers, "You'd better not, anyway."

"Not even with Kinshirou?"

"Not even with Kinshirou."

Atsushi laughs. "That's ok. I'm fine where I am now."
