Lonesome Town: Ricky Neilson

"N-no. It couldn't have, I..." I try to deny but the images replay in my head, feeling all too real.

"From when you were on earth. Before you became mind-controlled by the TVA to do whatever they said just like a pack of dogs." Sylvie explains, dusting herself off.

Loki stops and tilts his head, turning to her confused. "What did you just say? Before the TVA?"

She nods. "She was a regular person-."

      "Evelyn." I interrupt.

"I beg your pardon?" Loki asks as they turn to me.

"They were calling me Evelyn." I look up to him. He furrows his brows as his eyes grow wide and I turn back towards Sylvie for clarification. "We were told that we were created by the Time Keepers?"

"That's ridiculous." She slowly bends down to retrieve her sword. "You're all Variants, just like us."

Loki sits up, realizing. "They don't know that."

I close my eyes, trying to wrap my head around everything that just happened in the last few seconds. "If they were lying to us about that, then what else is a lie?"

"Everything. They're monsters." Sylvie spats. "That's why when that TemPad's fixed, I'm going straight back to the TVA to finish what I started."

      "I'm coming too."

       "No."

       "I-!"

       "You tried to kill me."

"Yeah, sorry about that... but that was when I was with the TVA!" She scoffs. "Hey, you tried to kill me too!" I point out causing her to roll her eyes. "All of my friends are involved in this, I can't just sit back now that I know!" I explain, standing up. "Besides now that your plan failed, you can use an inside scoop. Someone who knows their way around the TVA."

She glares at me then eventually rolls her eyes. "Fine. Give me the TemPad."

"Sorry, but not until we know that you won't leave us here." Loki steps forwards with the TemPad in hand. Not feeling him steal it, I double-check my blazer pocket where it was hiding to confirm that it's gone. Sylvie reaches out and tries to grab it but Loki moves his hands and it disappears.

"You're just fully a magician then?" She mocks. Loki gives her his classic smirk in response causing her to grow irritated and storm towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Loki questions, caught off guard.

"There's power somewhere on this moon," She turns back to us, "we just need enough of it to travel through inter-dimensional time and space." Loki looks around as a rock hits the building causing it to shake. Sylvie rolls her eyes and leaves with us following right after.

Luckily the shower seemed to die down allowing us to walk freely. Sylvie stays a few feet ahead, clearly not wanting to be disturbed.

"So, what's it like?" I ask, breaking the silence.

Loki looks at me confused. "I'm sorry?"

"Meeting yourself." I gesture to Sylvie. "It 's probably weird."

"Oh." He faces forwards again. "Yes, I do suppose it's rather odd. Not something that I would ever think I'd do, but..." He chuckles to himself. "I guess there are lots of things now that I thought I'd never be doing."
