Terry and Rain

I lean my head against car window and try block out the hideous lyric of the song Terry just put on. I really have no clue why his taste in music had to be so bad. Maybe he doesn't see it..or listen to it, I guess.

The cool glass reverberates against my cheek as I look out at the trees speeding past us. It always perturbed me as to why it seemed so...the trees and all..and yet to a person standing outside, we'd just look like a normal speed moving vehicle. It's thoughts like these that have me wanting to scrape my brain out for not knowing it's use.

I once had a headache trying to form a simpler equation to what my teacher had given me. He said it solved the equation the same way as the first, but it was better to stick to what he'd given to the class or something like that. I just agreed to what he'd said and didn't really mind anyway.

I puked right after leaving the class.

The store comes into view as the car heads in its direction. It comes to a stop just in front of the gliding glass doors and I immediately get out and head in. I set my tiny purse down at one of the shelves by the entrance and head on to find a basket, Terry right behind me.

“Meet back here in..",he poses to have a quick look at his watch, “thirty minutes."

“Yeah, whatever, barbi-", he tugs on my arm right before I disappear, cutting me off. “I mean it, Rain."

I just roll my eyes mumbling a ‘yeah’ and turn into one of the isles.

I wasn't even going to take long anyway. I never do. It's always him and his unlikeliness to find the ‘right pair of boxers’ as he put it. I scoff. He is so dramatic.

I look through the stationery section and pick out some erasers, notebooks, and-
I pause when I don't see the pens I usually like to write with. I frown and look through the row again.

Yeap, not there.

I sigh and throw some colorful pens in. I grab some pencils and get done with this section.I walk to the toiletries' and grab some pads, liners, toilet paper,..and well you know. Everything...

I walk past this girl I've seen at school and pretend I haven't seen her, moving along to the clothing section, then the body care, and finally.

The food section.

I smile a little and immediately stop when I see a salt-and-pepper haired man eyeing me a few feet away.I probably look like a maniac smiling anyway. I grab everything I love and need and take a peek at the tellers checking to see if lil ol' brother is there yet.

Not yet there.

I shrug and move to the reading part of the store.

Yes, it actually has that.

I found it a while back, as I was wandering the store, bored out my mind, waiting for Terry to get done with shopping. Yeah this isn't the first he goes against his own words. I was surprised, when I found the shelves full of books, that is, but took no time to start reading the books there.

Always have, and probably always will.

I grab a book off a shelf, already sat down and ready to read when I see something sit across from me. Normally, there's barely anyone here, which I love with all of my heart, but did someone really have to sit across from me? I make no move to look up from my book and continue reading.

Just when I'm starting to get engrossed in the book, the person whispers a ‘hi'.

I pretend to not catch it and keep my nose in my book.I mean, I wouldn't have heard it anyway if this person wasn't basically breathing on my forehead.
