A/N: HEYYY! This is my first lil' book in the series, and it's gonna be a sad one T~T... This is gonna be a dnf fanfic!!

TW: Death, fire, derealisation, cursing, yelling, explosions, drowning, emptiness, alone.

Actual story (Dream POV):

"GEORGE" I scream, turning to see the brit metres behind me. I rest my hands on my thighs, just barely holding myself up. "FUCKING HELL, RUN GEORGE"!

George is a slow runner, everyone knows that. It doesn't help that we hadn't eaten in a few hours, since breakfast. George and I were just living our lives as we usually would, wandering the plains of the smp, before an unexpected explosion occurred in the distance.

The scent of smoke had travelled quickly, reaching George and I within seconds of the loud bang. The burn seeped through my nostrils, reaching my brain as I faded in and out of my thoughts.

"Uhh, Dream?!"

I could faintly hear George say tapping me on the shoulder. A small clink ringed from my netherite armour.

"yeah?" My face turns to see George's, a worried look plastered upon him. "hey, what's wrong?!"

"Dream... fucking wake up. The tnt is travelling here! We need to go!" George nudged me this time, the clang of the armour waking me up, as I look in front of me.

The smoke wasn't just strong because it travelled quickly, it was strong because it was so close. The explosion damage grew, smoke filling the air and splotches of fire scattered around the land. Before I had realised, I had snatched George's hand, pulling him along with me as we galavanted towards the water. At this rate, I really didn't think we were going to make it in time. I was strong and fast, but George was really holding me back. I don't just think it was physically, though.

For ages now, i'd seen George a different way. His deep brown eyes were deeper than they usually were, you could get lost in them for hours. His eyes reminded me of the void, a place which no one on the server had been before, a place in the end. I longed to keep George safe, more than I usually did as destruction had been common recently, and I refuse to let George reach the end before me. I love him too much to let that happen.

George POV:

Leaves and twigs swatted me in the face as Dream dragged me through the forest. We needed to escape, reach the pier and sail far enough before the tnt explosions reached us, and killed us both.

I feel terrible, i've never been a fast runner, and it was causing disadvantage on Dream now. Maybe if I let go of his hand, then he could make it to safety faster? I pushed myself forward, trying to loosen the grip between Dream's hand and mine. He was holding so tight.

"Dream! Let go!" I yelped, out of breath as another branch slaps my face.

"No! I can't! Just hold on, we are almost there!" Dream yells back, checking to see me. A smile starts to grow, forming from the corner of his lips. His emerald eyes fogged up as tears escaped them.

"Please, Clay. Please let go. I'm right behind you" I cry out. The use of Dream's real name must have really gotten to him, as he lets go immediately, still checking back to see if I was keeping up.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep up. I knew something bad was going to happen. There was just one thing I needed to tell Dream before it happened too quick.

Dream POV:

I glance back once more. He wasn't going to make it. The explosions and fire were only within ankle's reach of George. I stopped myself, and began to run towards him. He was panting so fast, tears streaming from his eyes, sweat forming from thin air, all over his body. 'come on, George. make it please.'

At this point, it's really up to me to save him. And if I can't i'm going to live with that regret for the rest of the time I walk the earth.

George and I were getting closer now, I was almost right by him. My plan is to run in, scoop him over my shoulder and run as fast as I can, the water is so close now.

The sound of the explosions had grown on me now, they were so loud, but in this moment, so quiet. Time began to slow, as George leaped towards me. His hands in front of his whole body, reached out for me. I prepared my body to catch him.

Just as his hands brushed against mine, our eyes locked and I heard George whisper something to me, with all the energy he had left.

"I love you, Clay." He said.

My heart lifted, yet at the same time was at its heaviest. Just as George was landing, a bomb explodes below him, and before I see him go, a large cloud of smoke blinds me, as I keep running. I scream my lungs out at this point, knowing I had lost him. I reach the water, diving into it. I have no energy left now.

I feel myself sinking to the surface of the ocean, and for once in my life, I didn't care. The water was ice cold, and so empty. I guess you could say that I can relate to the water, in a way. I was empty too. The one thing that had kept me going, my whole existence in this world was George. And he had just exploded, reached the end, before me.

I could feel the water filling every hole of my body, reaching my lungs, drowning them. The water wrapped itself around every bone inside me, filling me, blocking all airways. I could feel it all, but it just couldn't add up to the pain I felt in my heart, from the loss of George. Soon enough, there is nothing left of me, except my corpse resting on the bottom of the ocean's sandy floor.

I never got to say I love you back.

A/N: Thoughts??? Idkkk how I feel about this please tell me :))
