"Yeah Em tell us the whole thing!"
My friends were pestering me about my date with Jimmy last night.we were all at my house hanging out,before I could open my mouth we heard a knock noise.we looked and saw my mom standing in my doorway,holding a plate of sandwiches."hey girls,I brought sandwiches!"she said cheerfully,my friends cheered but I just looked at my mom sadly.ever since I got my diagnosis she's been having a hard time trying to deal with it,so she's been coping by getting better at cooking."so what are you girls talking about?"she asked,"Emily went on a date!"Kylie said.i immediately facepalmed,"oh god this won't end well."I thought.i thought that my mom would be mad,but she was a bit excited:for now.once she learns that I went out with Jimmy it's definitely game over for me,"oooo I'm so proud of you honey!"she said as she hugged me.I awkwardly hugged her back,"so who is this boy?"she asked.
Jimmy's pov
I slowly opened my eyes,I stretched in bed and smiled.my date with Emily was the best date ever!out of all of the girls I've gone out with I think she's the one:my soulmate,my everything."Jimmy it's time to get up kiddo."I heard my dad say as he opened my room door,I sighed."alright,I'm up."i said,I got out of bed and began to get ready for my day.as I did,I couldn't help but to touch my lips.i blushed,thinking about Emily."I have to see her again!"I thought,feeling eager I quickly got changed.i put on my shoes and darted down the door,"Jimmy don't you want breakfast?"I heard my mom ask."I can't right now mom I have to see Emily."I said,running out the front door.

"I can't right now mom I have to see Emily."Jimmy said as he ran out the front door.his mom and dad looked at each other,"Emily?who's Emily?"mr.Reardon asked.mrs.Reardon tried to think about it,but it immediately clicked."oh my...do you know my friend Irene?"she asked mr.Reardon,"yeah,why?"he asked.
"she has a daughter named Emily,and she was diagnosed with cancer."
Mr.Reardon widened his eyes,they looked back at the front door which was still open."shit...do you think he knows?"he asked her,she shook her head no."poor thing,it'll break his heart when he finds out."she said,putting her hand on her heart.
