"Hey Dion! Stop daydreaming and come drink!"
"You're missing out on the fun!"
Dion felt exasperated at his friends and their happy go lucky behavior.
"How are you guys even able to drink when we're about to go right into enemy territory?"
Dion said while frowning.
"You just don't get it."
Quin replied.
"It's precisely because this journey might be our last days together that we should drink tonight! What better way to celebrate our final days?"
Dion was speechless at his words. Those were the words of a madman in his eyes.
"Are you really fine with this, Leader??"
Dion asked, looking towards Lloyd who was seated by a tree.
Lloyd chuckled at Dion's exasperation.
"It's fine isn't it? This might be the last time we see each other after all. It's the last supper!"
Dion rolled his eyes at Lloyd's joke. Despite his reluctance, he couldn't help but admit that the atmosphere of the group made him feel more relaxed than he was before.
"There's no need to worry about these guys that much, Dion."
"Only that kind of attitude will allow you to survive a war."
Creat said as he patted Dion's shoulders.
"Well don't stress yourself over it. Ask away if you need any help."
Dion sighed.
"Cheer up kid, don't be such a downer and have a swig."
Ruy cheerfully brought over a large cup of beer and placed it in front of Dion.
Dion looked at the cup and contemplated his senior Creat's words.
Perhaps there was a point to Creat's words. Malding over possible outcomes wasn't a solution after all.
He decided to take up Ruy's offer. He would simply do as his heaft told him to.
Dion picked up the cup and decided to just go for it.
Eventually, he found himself feeling much calmer than before.
They drank till midnight came and the moon shone bright in the night sky.
"Alright it's time to wrap things up."
Lloyd said after seeing the time.
"You guys wouldn't wanna end up dying because of sleep deprivation now would you?"
The other guys reluctantly went back into their tents and snuffed out their candles.
Dion laid down and tried to fall asleep. Something felt off but he couldn't tell what it was.
It felt like he was losing something he needed to hold onto.
He tried to force himself asleep but no matter what he tried, the emptiness wouldn't let him sleep.
(I'm getting too paranoid again..)
Dion sighed to himself at his anxious nature.
He left his tent and heated up a drink for himself to calm down.
"Ah, you couldn't sleep either Dion?"
Dion turned around and saw Creat coming out of his tent.
"Yeah, you too?"
