Chapter One

I opened the door and turned on the lights. My bathroom was still the same as always, small with a toilet right next to the shower. I walked in and grabbed the small sink in front of the surprisingly big mirror. There stood he. The one person I can never seem to escape. His droopy looking brown eyes staring at me intently. The dark rims under his eyes suggested that he's been watching me all night again. His messy brown curls dangling in front of his face. I see you forgot to shave again, that stubble on your face looks bigger than yesterday.

I look down at his body. His hands were clutching the sink just as I was. His long skinny arms containing nothing particular besides a few bracelets and a bite mark on his upper right arm. Where did he get that again? Who knows? I looked at his chest. It was so skinny that you could see the outlining of his ribs. Which was odd cause I know that he eats a lot, a whole lot.

“Maybe you should start exercising.” I said.

I chuckled a bit there. I knew that would never happen. No matter how many times he tried he would never get enough to keep a routine up for a week.

You really are a pathetic being aren't you?” I thought. Sigh. I know what this means. This person here was just a mere one of the countless, useless doppelgangers of me. An exact replica, over there, standing right in front of me on the other side of the mirror.

I quickly washed my face and shook my hair. I stepped into the shower and turned the water on. Then I adjusted the temperature so the water wouldn't be cold, rather a bit warmer than body temperature. Just the way I like it.

And then I wandered off in another daydream. I usually daydream about this red-headed boy who always has adventures.

Sigh. If I actually was him...

Explosions sound all around. Pieces of ceiling and pillars inside a humongous warehouse started to break and fall. A boy calmly walks through the falling rubble while being shot at by the countless mercenaries hiding behind anything they could. But oddly enough the boy isn't getting hit by the bullets. Knowing this he merely flicked his long red hair and chuckled.

“What the hell is this kid?”

“The bullets just reflect off of him!”

The boy chuckled again and pointed his finger at them. A blaze of fire shot out and flew behind a pile of boxes and combusted into a huge explosion, wiping out another group of enemy shooters.

“Retreat.. RETREAT!” The few men left started running towards the doors and some even jumped out of the windows.

The boy simply laughed at the men running away and turned around when he heard a creak coming from above him.

“I didn't think someone would actually stay behind.” His dark mischievous voice sounded.

“Well I wanted to battle you alone.” A dark shadow jumped off a still hanging beam and charged at the boy.

“This is the time I defeat you Detrië!” Cried out the shadow-figure as he formed a ball of lightning with his hands.

Detrië chuckled once more delightedly. He also charged a ball of fire in his hand to counter the on coming attack. As the two elemental balls clashed into each other, a large explosion erupted.

Knock knock.

“Hey Adrian! Get out of the bathroom. I have to pee!”

There goes my roommate again. So impatient as always. I just finished off and got out. He stood there, outside the bathroom door, tapping his foot. His arms were crossed and he was looking at me with his serious green eyes. Or were they hazel eyes? I'm not sure, they always change.
