'i love you too dad', I sniffle, snuggling my head into his chest. My dad was the only person in the whole world i trusted and ever would. I was going to miss him. alot.  My mother was stood further back, she hated standing near my father for too long or being anywhere near him for that matter. They divorced when i was younger and have barely spoken since, even though it's been a whole 10 years. I had just turned 20 a few days ago, the time had come to finally flee the nest- but i wasn't going alone. My best friend in the whole entire universe was joining me,  Amara. She was my day one. My ride or die, the sun to my moon.

I step up onto the train and depart from the platform, giving a final exaggerated wave to my parents, I mouth the words 'i love you' whilst turning my head from the final glance. I stumble with my luggage down the narrow aisle of the carriage, following along behind Amara as we search for our designated seats.

'ahhhhh, finally!', Amara exhales while squealing slightly. I take her hand in mine and squeeze it tight, squealing in chorus with excitement. The journey consisted of us two talking about our new apartment and seeing our friends etc, but mainly napping as we had been up since 4 am with non stop travel. The journey from kings cross to our apartment was a blur, it all happened so fast. As a girl who grew up in a much quieter city, london was out of the ordinary and scary to me. It was going to get some getting used to, that was guaranteed.

Eventually we arrived at our apartment, we dumped our bags all over the place and figured we'd sort the details out tomorrow (decorating etc).

'y/n.....',  Amara called out my name with a sly smirk spread across her glowy cheeks.

'yes..?', i say with uncertainty as she shuffles across the sofa we were sat on, crawling to my side. ' wanna go to a partaayyyyy?' she screeches .

' a party? on our first night? really?', i moan to her with a pouty face. Amara had many connections in London, so all her friends would be at this party. I knew no one, and after the long day i really could do without small talk.

'YES it will be fun ad you know it'

before i had a  chance to disagree she had whipped my onto my feet and dragged me into her room flinging out all sorts of clothes. Another thing about Amara was that she had an immense sense of fashion- which often came in handy-. Once we were both ready Amara made a few phone calls with her friends who had invited the two of us, majority of her connections and friends were people who worked for important people, such as songwriters, dancers, athletes etc. Amara was a personal shopper for big celebrities just like her friends, it was one of the many reasons we had decided to move to London. Due to my besties contacts, this meant that we had exclusive access to all the hottest events all across London!

A few minutes later an uber pulled up outside and we immediately rushed to our ride. The adrenaline of moving to a new place and being exposed to all this new freedom was catching up with me. As we drive under the many shining lights of London town, i take in this exact moment. Right now everything was perfect. Perfect.
