I am Aleena Kabir, I just became eighteen years old after my high school graduation. Not much about me, I am fair in complexion, I based in Lagos, Nigeria with my family. We are in our after graduation break. My dad is planning to send me abroad, so that I can study my dream course, Pharmacy. I am rocking my holiday with my family and friends.
Alexa medina , my ex-friend in our high school organized an after school party, she sent me an invitation for the party, I was very surprised about it. It was during summer and we have a lot of time before admission would be out. I woke up from bed that afternoon and took a shower. I don't usually dress occasionally but I wear simple clothes that would make me feel free. I have a plan of wearing my blue gown, OMG I love dressing up and looking good. I did my daily routine before and after taking my bath, before taking my bath I applied scrub on my face and face mask and took my bath. After my bath, I sat down on the chair and in front of my mirror drawer. I don't do makeup all the time, I apply my cream, I brushed my eyebrows, applied my khol and lipstick. I looked perfect for that party. I was thirsty so I went out of my room to get some water, I met my siblings Aliya and Aliyu watching cartoon in the parlor. We are five in our family excluding my parents , me, Aliyu and Aliya and my elder sister and brother, my elder brother, bilal is abroad studying aeronautical engineering in Cairo, while my sister is married and is a doctor with only one child, Adnan and she is living abroad with her husband in Paris, home of love and romance .
They ran to hug me because I haven't been outside my room since morning, our house help served me my breakfast in my room.
"Awwn, how is your day guys" I asked them..
"Soo boring sissy" , Aliya answered
"I wanted to follow mom but she refused to take me along" ,Aliyu Said and looking sad.
They are twins and 9 years old, they were on holiday too.
"OK, mum is at work now so you need to rest at home..... Okay?" I said trying to console them both
"Go continue watching your cartoon my babies" I added..
Both of them ran back to the parlor
I went and get water and back to my room.
My mom is a very busy business woman she runs a very big plaza my dad built for her, she sells anything fashionable like clothes, jewelries, shoes bags caps, veils she exports her goods to different states and some other countries within Africa, though there's a restaurant in the building but she keeps a manager there so she goes out every day from 10 o' clock in the morning till four in the evening excluding weekends and Fridays which she spends time with us ,and my dad is a pilot and he travels a lot. He spends two weeks with us every month . And that's the best weeks I love because my dad is a lovely man.
I wore my clothes and rolled up my veil,I took my vintage shoe and bag dad bought for me as gift three days back, unplug my phone and took my shade. I went out and said goodbye to Aliyu and Aliya.
"Sissy.... You all are going out and its boring being lonely" Aliya murmured
"Aliya let's go out and ride bicycle" Aliyu said running down from the chair.
"Okay you guys need to take a nap, let the sun set before you ride your bike" I said
"But sissy we are lonely" Aliyu snapped
I felt for the both of them how boring it would be without anyone at home so I decided to take them out.
Okay you guys go change I will be waiting for you,
Both of them were happy and at the same time asked me
"where are you taking us to"
"I guess shopping sissy" Aliya asked
"or maybe the cinema right?" Aliyu asked too
Both of them guessing places and I cut them
"None of the places you both mentioned are in the options I am planning to take you guys"
"I am taking you to Aunty meenah's house so that you can play with yusra and Khalil.. Isn't that gonna be fun.." I asked them
"yes sissy, we really missed them" Aliya said
Okay... Khadija!! I called, our house help
She came and I asked her to change their clothes to anything simple we are going out.
I was waiting for them in the parlour for about three minutes and then my phone rang.
It was Salim, my best friend we met since primary school
"Hey babe, how's today?" He said
"Great I think.. Uhmm would you be coming to the party?" I asked him
"Yeah thats why I called you so that I can be sure if you are going " He said
"Yeah I would since she gave me an invitation herself" I said
"But I hope she won't do anything weird out there?"He said laughing on phone
I also laughed and said "she can't do anything to me, even if she would today's the worst day she would try it"
"Well it Seems like you are ready for Alexa today ?" Salim asked
"Hope you wore something nice" he added
"Yeah I wore something simple, and for her trying any shit today, it's gonna look bad because I am ready for today"I said
"I will drop Aliya and Aliyu in my aunt house then I will drop by to pick Billy because her car is down" I added and cut the call.
Billy is my very female bestfriend we do and go anywhere together,her name is Bilkisu Bello. I and Salim are the only ones that calls her Billy while popularly she is known as B.B
We finished talking on phone and I cut the call.
They were done dressing and we went to the car. I drove them and dropped them off at aunty meenah's house and straight to Billy's house.
The gate man opened the gate for me and I drove into the parking space. I went inside the house and met Billy in the sitting room, their house was just like a second house to our family. We are like family and friends. She wore something just like mine and I was not surprised because it always happens. Me and her are just like twins and coincidence happens in anything we individually planned to do all the time to the extent that people think we are sisters. Some said we ask each other what to wear or do before doing anything, which is not. We both never planned on wearing anything the same, but for doing something we sometimes ask each other's opinion.

We spent sometimes talking about the reason why Alexa would want to be friends with us again . She is always competing with us and always jealous of us. At first I liked her and we were friends altogether but when she betrayed us during our sss3 graduation , she was very jealous of us and planned to blackmail us in the middle of the school. So we stopped being friends with her only hi/hello when we meet at any party during the holiday because we are among the rich circle of Lagos as people call if. Any party around lagos we got invited. We are not celebrities but we are popular . The clock said 5:17pm and by then the sun is set so We both said goodbye to her mom and left.
We reached the party venue at twenty minutes after six. The place was not crowded because only dope and classy people were invited from school and other popular groups of people that runs Lagos . We parked in the middle where everyone can see us and came out of the car, like we were calling attention . Everyone was admiring us and we both went straight to the VIP section. We sat on the chair as it looks balanced and we created a space by my side because I know Salim will be joining us. Its been quite a long time since we last met with some of the people after our high school graduation. I noticed a guy staring at me since when we came. I pretend not to see him.
Salim came and sat on the space we left .
"Babes..You guys looked gorgeous" he said
"Salim for how long have you been here?" Billy asked him
"For like thirty seconds before you guys came.." He answered
We both chatted and jubilate. We met our classmates we hadn't meet and we all chatted and had fun.
I told Billy about the guy staring at me and she said I have to show him I don't see him. We went to the middle were people were dancing and we danced, the guy came to were we were and was trying to come closer to us so we went to the bar table and pretend to order for a drink. Before I could say anything the guy said hello to me, Billy was behind.
"hi" i said
"if you don't mind can I join you and have a drink too" he said with a smirk.
"it's fine"
I ordered for three glasses of champagne and we all were served. We talked like we have known each other for a long time. He said his name is Khalid Ammar. I was shocked to hear that but I didn't show him. Luckily was I, he was the son of the former Governor of Lagos, GoV. Ammar Yunusa Yaradu'a. He did not tell me at first so I asked.
"And you?" he asked me
"my dad is a pilot and my mom is a business woman "I answered
We finally introduced each other and exchanged contacts with him, he made friends with Billy and Salim too. Alexa came as we were just talking,
" hi bitches "she said trying to act cool
We answered formally and she was trying to intrude into our conservation with Khalid. She sat beside him and was poke nosing in his chat with us. She tried to grab his hand and sat on his lap. They were acting grumpy, Khalid told her how interested he was with me.
He pushed her away from his lap and stood up
"Finally I have found a Queen Alexa, thanks for inviting me to your party"
"who is that queen of yours I need to be introduced to her" Alexa said peeking behind her
"she is right here by the name Aleena" he said to her stretching his hand towards me
I set my palm on his hand and standing up from my seat. Alexa looked unhappy and was shocked.
Khalid noticed that and asked her if anything was right. She said that she had to be in the girls restroom and she went. Billy was just snapping us and was screaming at last everyone's attention was on us. We danced together and people joined us too. I turned around and couldn't find Billy so I took an excuse from Khalid. I went to the back where the music can't reach me so I dialled Billy's number. She picked it and said that she is in the restroom I should come quick and meet her. Khalid was watching me and he came and meet me.
"hope all is well Aleena?"
"Yeah, Billy needs me in the restroom now"
"okay I will be waiting for you to come back" he said as I was trying to go meet Billy.
To my surprise nothing was wrong just that Alexa was standing in her front with tears filled in her eyes and her eyes were already red.
"what's the problem Billy" I asked
Before I could finish talking Alexa cut in with her words
"why are you guys always after my me, I have wanted him all the time and it was hard before I convinced him to come to my party, WHY!!!! She screamed, I didn't know what's with you guys, you are always after me, I don't know what I have blocked for you guys, and it's always the two of you,"
"seriously I don't get what you are trying to say but calm down and talk to me in a low tone" I said moving closer to Alexa
"I have never done anything to hurt you guys but why me!!!?" Alexa said kneeling on her knees
I was confused and asked her to say something we can understand but she was in tears and shouting "why me!!!"
Billy understood where Alexa was heading to but she couldn't say anything so she stood at her feet watching both of us.
"Aleena what Alexa is trying to say here is about Khalid if I am not wrong"
"what's wrong with Khalid and how does this have to do with him?" I asked because I was already in love with Khalid and I don't want him being involved in this
"Are you trying to tell me that you don't know I love that boy with all my heart" Alexa said standing up from her knees
"wait... Khalid?" I asked with sharp eyes and surprised tone
" Yes, I want him and he will always be mine" Alexa said and left the restroom
She wanted to humiliate me and Billy so she went out of the restroom and went straight to Khalid, before I could say anything the door of the restroom was filled with people and I was surprised what she must have done or said to them , me and Billy went out of the restroom and people were giving us space to pass just like celebrities coming out, some shouting lesbian stalkers, some witches, some groupie, some wores and sort of bad names. Khalid was standing far from us and was just watching, he did not even move. Salim came to our rescue and took us out of the place. I was so scared and angry to drive so Salim drove us home in my car while his friend drove his car. We reached to our house and my mum was home,it was after eight pm already and mum doesn't want us to pass eight outside the house. So she was very angry about it and we explained what caused the delay. She asked me why we went to the party since the organiser has hatred on us. She asked me never to go to any party without her permission again. Billy had to stay the night with us so she informed her mum and she agreed. Salim left with his friend and we went to our room.
My phone pings and to my surprise it was notifications from Instagram, My pictures had been posted on every social media and was tagged with captions like "whore bitch of Lagos" "Groupie" "The lagos whore who tried seducing Khalid Ammar, the former governor's son" . Alexa blackmailed me again this time and so many people reposted it. I was very angry that moment and I had to be offline for tonight. Billy consoled me. Khalid had been calling me for like twenty missed calls so he tried Billy's line and she refused to answer the phone and he sent like twelve messages and she refused to reply. We both prayed and went to bed, I didn't sleep that night early because my parents would be mad at me if it reached the news because Alexa was as popular as you could not imagine.
The next day, I woke up and on my Instagram page I was tagged "sugar girl" on every social media. I was surprised and Billy was surprised too. She was going through the message Khalid sent her and to her surprise Khalid love me a lot. He went on live last night and made a short video on what happened last night. Salim screen record it and sent it to me. He made everything clear from what Alexa had done to me. Khalid on live said
"Hi everyone, I am Khalid Ammar as everyone popularly knows me, I want to share this with you guys, I met the most beautiful girl I have ever met today. I can see sparkle in her eyes, when I was with her our conversation was effortless, I know every success comes along with envy, I am really in love with this sugar girl I met, A friend of mine who turned out to love me too blackmailed my sugar girl, I don't care what the social media thinks about us, I am here to clearly state that I was the one who tried to make friend with Aleena first, I just met her but she seems to like make me feel like I have known her for a long time . But some shitty girl is trying to turn over everything I plan with my sugar girl. Alexa I am so sorry but me and you cannot be together. I love my sugar girl by the name Aleena kabir.
Khalid said so in his live video and we were happy about it especially me. Everyone on social media started calling me sugar girl, and I was happy how Khalid stood for me and defended me from embarrassment that Alexa pushed me into.
It was last weekend of the month, and I was surprised to have forgotten that my dad would be back today. Me and Billy went out to the parlour, same old scene all the time, Aliyu and Aliya watching TV. They were the ones that reminded me of dad.
"Aunty Billy you slept in our house" Aliya came asking Billy
"yeah I did Aliya.. You were asleep when we came back"
"ohhh I was very tired last night because I had fun in aunty meenah's house with yusra and Khalil "
"uhmmm, that was great Aliya"
"Aunty Billy I can drive a car now"
"wow! really"
"yeah, I drove me Yusra, Aliyu and Khalil in Khalil's car, and we went to shopping"
"okay you will drive us later when we are going out"
"Aunty Billy I......." Aliya was saying
"Aliya I need to seat please, let's go and continue watching cartoons" Billy cut Aliya and both of them went and sat.
Aliyu was just watching his cartoons, Aleena went to the kitchen and came back with two cups of cappuccino. She gave Billy one and went to the dinning behind the sitting room area. She was using her phone and Aliyu came besides her.
"sissy I want to see daddy"
"Aliyu dad is on his way"
"Sissy I missed him"
"we too Aliyu"
Sounds from the stairs area reached them and it was mum. She came to the sitting room and sat on the sofa chair. Aleena greeted her and the rest greeted her too.
"Dad is on his way" Mom said
Aliyu and Aliya were very happy about it and Aleena too.
"where is khadija" mom asked
Aliya ran and called her
"how was your night girls" mom asked us
"great mum" me and Billy joined mouth and answered
"Aleena dad has something for you but I prefer you hear it from him" Mom said
"Okay mum anything from dad is the best I know" Aleena said.
Aleena was starting to think about it. What is it going to be, she couldn't even get anything that might match what it could be.
Khadija came and mom asked her to join her in the kitchen to prepare nice dishes for Dad. Aleena and Billy went back to the room after being done with the breakfast they were served after the cappuccino they took.
"I can't even guess what dad would tell me about or even surprise me with" Aleena said wailing her hands and falling into the bed. Billy sat on the chair in front of the mirror starring at her view in the mirror.
"you haven't said anything since we came into this room" Aleena said sitting up on the bed.
"oh yeah, I don't know I just felt what if it's your admission to abroad that is the good news" Billy said without even turning to look at Aleena
"But that's true oh, That might be the good news, but why the face Billy?"
"well I am very happy for you seriously if it is going to be it" Billy said turning around and facing Aleena "but I am already feeling lonely now Aleena, I will miss you... Like a lot"
Aleena stood up and went to the mirror side to meet Billy.
"But you don't have to, even me I will miss you so much and everything here but especially you" Aleena said
"But I would be lonely and you would have new friends over there" Billy said
Aleena hugged her through the back and said "but new friends aren't new best friend Billy, You would forever be my best friend"
Billy said nothing and just smiled
"C'mon bitch let's enjoy the moments now" Aleena said trying to push Billy from the chair.
Aleena played music with her phone and connected it to the Bluetooth speaker in her room. Billy helped her tidy up her room.
They both took their bath and were dressing up.
"Your phone is ringing and you have to pick it" sugar girl of Instagram " Billy said teasing Aleena and passing her the phone
" ohhhh, it's my baby Khalid "Aleena picked up the phone and they were talking
They spent almost fifteen minutes making calls and Aleena switched the call to video call. Billy was starring at her and locking irritated.
" Abeg you guys should take a break from that love of yours, it is just yesterday that you guys met oh and you are already taking it far" Billy said
There was a knock on the door and Billy went to check out, it was khadija and she said Dad have arrived.
Billy passed the message to Aleena and about two minutes she cut the call and went to meet dad.
The gate man, Buhari was alraedy bringing in dad's luggage and Dad was already in his own sitting room opposite to the main parlour.
"Dadzu" Aleena called as she entered his own sitting room
She ran and hugged him Aliyu and Aliya were already there, they were happy.
Aleena sat besides him and Billy greeted him and sat on the other two seater sofa beside the three seater sofa that Aleena and her dad was. Buhari was done done bringing in the luggage and dad gave him some money. He went out and continued his duty. Mom came in and sat besides dad,
"you should take a shower and eat first before any other thing" mom said
They talked for like fifteen minutes and every one was happy. He stood up and went to the bed room with mom. Aleena and Billy were watching the show on the TV while Aliyu and Aliya were busy going up and down. Mom came out of the bedroom and went to the dining room to serve food for dad. She arranged everything that dad would need to eat. She sat on one of the dining chair and was using her phone.
Dad came out of the bed room and we all followed him to the dinning and everyone had a seat including Billy. Dad was eating and he did not even say a word because he obeys the dinning rules rather he smiled when we say or do anything funny. Though we served ourselves drinks on the dining table. Mom ate a bit of the food. Dad was done and he started telling us about it all there abroad. He said he enjoyed England this time because they were given a lot of money as part of their salary so he spent a lot and he bought gifts for everyone as usual. Aliyu and Aliya asked for their toys and dad answered them and told them he had bought them toys and this time every one of them have his own different package, no sharing.
We all went back to the sitting room and dad handed everyone his package, Billy got a package too. Aliyu and Aliya had started playing with their toys. Mom told Khadija to clear the dinning and tidy up the kitchen. Me and Billy were about to go to my room and Dad called us back. He started talking about school and I even forgot about what mom said on what dad had for me. Dad reminded me of it and he said
"Aleena get prepared for traveling because we would be travelling next week together"
"Dad really" I was very happy
"But dad no preparation I am always prepared" I said
"I mean you will be going to school and when I am going back to work I will go with you so that I can do all the preparations there" dad said
"okay dad, where to" I asked
"England of course, hope you liked it" dad asked
"sure dad I do" I was very happy
"you will be studying pharmacy which you have always wanted to" dad said with a surprising tone
"yes dad" I answered
"That means it's going to be next week Monday" Mom asked
"yeah, that is Monday" dad answered
Billy was happy for me too.
"what about you Billy" mom asked her
"I am waiting for my dad's reply, I had also want to go abroad, but I have done all the registration for BUK, Kano" Billy answered
"I suggest you go to abroad too just like munnir your elder brother there in Uganda" Mom said
"yeah he is there" Billy answered
"then why did you choose here" Mom asked her
"well dad decides for munnir to study abroad but I think he has a different plan for me" Billy answered
"okay" Mom said and kept quiet
We left dad and mom and went to my room.
It was around in the evening that Billy left, their driver came to pick her. We spent the evening at home. Aleena made phone calls with Khalid. She stays in her room all the time. Dad and mom spent their time together while Aliyu and Aliya jumped up and down playing with toys or watching cartoons all the time. The next day we went to shopping in the evening as usual and went for a tour to different tourism and to the beach and islands in Lagos. While the rest of the days dad use them to rest. I went to two parties that week and I spent spent most of the day's left for me with Billy and Salim and other friends.
On sunday morning, I woke up very early and took my bath. Dad said we will be going out to get my passport and other preparations done today. We took breakfast together with dad and the rest of my family were still in bed. We went out and it was interesting going out with dad. My dad meets a lot of his friends in the office we went to . It was like my dad knows half of people in the world. Almost everywhere we went to he meets people he knows and my dad introduced me to them as hus daughter. We were done around four 'o clock in the evening and I went to visit Billy at home. I had planned to go out with her and Salim before I leave. We went to a slumber party that Salim' s friend organised and as usual the same faces there. Khalid was there too so we spent time together and had fun. That evening was full of love and fun. I had fun to the fullest. I went home around to ten that evening.
The next day, Monday morning. Our flight was a night flight that dad board for us. I have arranged everything of mine in order because I don't want to forget anything I wanted to go with. I spent my time at home with Aliyu and Aliya, Billy came over too. Mom went to her office. Me and Billy were sitting in the parlour and Billy broke the news to me.
"Alee seriously I told mom and dad that I want to study abroad too and dad agreed with me" Billy said
"what about mom?" I asked
"she agreed too, but she suggested Sharda university for me" Billy said showing how she disagreed with her mom's suggestion.
"why, isn't it that University of India in Delhi?" I asked
"yeah"
"then why don't you like it" I asked her surprisingly
"I want to school with you, and I told dad about your school and he agreed with that but mom is bringing in her own option" Billy answered
"but since your dad agree with your decision it's fine" I said trying to console her
"but dad said it's going to be next year" Billy said sadly
"don't worry Billy my love, I'll never change a best friend ever" I said hugging her
We finished talking and had a long time chat. That day, in the evening I took another bath and me and Billy took a lot of pictures together. Mum came back in the evening. Mom took a shower and came to the sitting room and we were having a great time that evening. Around eight o'clock, Dad called Buhari to arrange our luggage in the booth. We all entered the car and went to the airport. The flight was by nine o'clock and we were already in the airport by 8:36pm. My dad was known in the airport to. We collected our tickets and the radio in the station announced that those boarding 9 o'clock flight should be ready. I hugged everyone and Billy started crying, I couldn't hold my tears too so I cried too. . Salim came that moment and I ran to hug him too. We bid goodbye to everyone and went to the run way and into the flight.
