Kelly
Today's the day. I thought as I took the first step out of my bed onto the cool floor. Today was the first day of school. I've gone to Rockford High the year before, but I was still nervous to go.As I stood up, I tucked a strand of my strawberry blonde hair behind my ear and went to the bathroom. I looked like shit. My hair stood up in places, my lips were cracked, and my face was pale. I grabbed my purple brush out of the drawer and started brushing my hair. Although my hair was straight and thin, it took a while to brush and get it how I liked. As I brushed, I thought of how today would go. Hopefully Michael and Taylor would be there, although I don't know why they wouldn't be.
Through the crack of the bathroom door, I heard the faint cries of a familiar song. I instantly knew what it was and ran to my room. Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana was going off on my phone. It was Taylor's ringtone. "Hey," I said, sounding rather hoarse. "Hey," she said, "What's up," "Nothing, about to brush my teeth." I said quietly, as I left my room and found my way to the bathroom through the dark and quite house. "Cool, cool." She said. "Yeah," I returned.
Taylor was my best friend since 2nd grade. We talked all the time and knew everything about one another. I trusted her, and loved her like family, but she seemed more distant since last year.
