Knight Rider "The Endless Road"

Chapter 1- Knight before the dawn...

We pick up exactly one year after the events of the true last episode of Knight Rider, "The Scent of Roses".

After the tragic death of Stevie, Michael Knight decided to leave FLAG as he could no longer keep going after that massive blow.

This came down like an avalanche on Devon and to the whole staff within the Foundation, not only Michael had been a major part of the project, but he was also the designated driver of K.I.T.T and a dear friend to them all to the point that they had become just like family to each other.

Devon, Bonnie, April, RC3 and even Dr Graiman the rest of the various members of the Knight Industries Research and Development staff were seriously worried about Michael and his emotional state that understandably was an emotional wreck.

Since before the tragic event, Michael had mentioned the thought about leaving FLAG after his marriage with Stevie and "passing the torch to someone else" and dedicate the rest of his days living the life both he and Stevie always wanted and seriously deserved.

A week had passed after her passing and the phone rang in Devon's office.

Devon picked it up and it was Michael on the other end.

(Devon)- Yes?

(Michael)with a heavy and sad tone in his voice-Devon? It's me.

Listen, I want to talk to you about what I had told you before...you know...

(Devon)- I know Michael, you do know that we are all here for you, no matter what.

You can come whenever you feel like it.

(Michael)- Thank you Devon, I'll drop by later today.

Bye.

Devon hangs up the phone and with a worried expression on his face looks at April and although they don't say a word, the feeling of dread was in the air after Michael's call.

Later that day, Michael and KITT are on their way to FLAG's HQ, and KITT asks.

(KITT)- Michael?

(Michael)-Yes KITT, what is it pal?

(KITT)-I detect some very peculiar readings in your heart rate, blood pressure as well as body temperature are dangerously above the safety levels.

Michael, are you feeling alright? Inquired KITT, showing just how worried he was.

(Michael)-KITT I am ok, it's just with all these things that happened lately, takes its toll buddy.

(KITT)- Michael...asked KITT.

(Michael)- Yeah KITT. Replied Michael.

(KITT)- You do know that you can always count on me, right?

Michael nods his head and breathes out with a heavy look in his eyes, he knew that KITT was noticing something.

Soon they were arriving at the Foundation.

KITT and Michael are finally at the Foundation, but before exiting he looks at KITT for a moment, amid that silence KITT quickly asks.

(KITT)- Michael, I have to say that it is impossible not to notice that there is something awfully strange about you today.

I do understand that after what happened to Stephanie, you took in a great deal of suffering and according to my research about grief, it can take some time for one to get back on its feet.

(Michael) answers while smiling back at KITT- Relax buddy, it's ok.

Michael stood at the arch just before the main entrance, looks back at KITT and while exhaling deeply walks in and starts to walk upstairs to Devon Miles' office.
