Crouching down I whimpered "please don't hurt me. My mother just died and I'm hungry." With him noticing me his eyes softened, "Aww little one I feel so bad, Want some food?" My eyes brightened, "please mister I'm so hungry." "If you join us we can give you food. " he purred, "I'm Stormstar by the way, who are you?" "I'm Wolf." "Well lets get going."
Leaping up into a tree Stormstar yowled, "All Cats old enough to climb the meeting tree meet under the lowest branch." With him beckoning me to join him I struggled to scramble up the trunk. Turning around on the branch I froze, over 10 pairs of eyes were staring at me. I leaned closer to Stormstar and whispered, "Why didn't you tell me this would be so nerve racking." "I didn't realize they would act like this, I'm sorry." He whispered. "Everybody listen up, I found this kit and he wishes to join us. Whats your say?" I sat nervously as i store into the crowd flashes of white, brown, silver,black, red, and pink all looking up at me every few seconds. After awhile one red furred cat stepped forward," Stormstar we want to give this kit a chance at becoming a warrior."
"Until you get your warrior name you'll be Wolfpaw, and I will be your mentor. Meeting dismissed." All around the camp erupted, " He isn't even a clan can!" "Look at him he is pathetic!" "Did you find him rolling in mud?" Looking all around everyone was sneering with jealousy. Not knowing what to do I leaped out of the tree and ran out of the camp, hearing Stormstar yell out, " WAIT WOLFPAW COME BACK!" Scrambling up into a hollow tree i curled up and fell asleep.
I was back in Starclan with all the cats in a circle, and right in front of me a cat spoke, no multiple through just one cat, "Wolfpaw you must return us to our clan, your stars are empty yet they shouldn't." And with that they faded out. Waking up in the tree a jumped down and started running towards camp.
Walking back into camp i sniffed out the freshkill pile and grabbed a plump mouse. Walking into the nearest cave i sat down and started eating. Mmm its been so long since i've tasted this. As i was taking my last bite a voice spoke up and purred, " You enjoying that mouse Wolfpaw?" Almost choking i turned around and hissed, "You can't do that to me.....I almost died!" "Oh stop overreacting and may I ask you a question?What was your mothers name?" Hesitating I shakily responded, "Her name was Velvet." In slow motion I watched as Stormstar gasped and fainted
Stormstars flashback
Nuzzling the kit i started to cry this was the last time i was going to see my kit. Why do you have to do this Velvet, I never did anything wrong." I sobbed " I don't want to hurt you Stormstar but i never meant for this to happen and you can't nurse him."
