PS: YOU ARE THE GHOST! i have wrote this as if you are the ghost watching your lover fall for another

everything was a blur, my head pounded, my legs failed to even bare my weight, my heart was stationary.

as my head eased and my legs regained somewhat strength i had in me, my body was jolted up by the feeling of cold slate. looking down to see my figure was completely transparent i immediately got up.

i looked around longing to find comfort, nobody. not a soul was around. picking my feet up it also became apparent i wasn't even around. i was dead and i didn't even know it.

after hours of waiting, a fountain of water appeared in the distance. without hesitation i took to my feet and sprinted for it. slamming into the old, stone fountain i found myself staring at someone i didn't recognise. it took me a few minutes to clock it. i was dead.

fear coursed through my aching body , splashing my face with the cold water from the fountain hoping i would wake up from this nightmare. nothing. i was certainly stuck here all by my self....

the water began to move in small ripples revealing my dear wife. Anita. her flushed pink cheeks, her emerald green eyes holding such a soft look. my true love. as a smile formed across my face a tear slowly made its way down my cheek. she was dancing to our wedding song, holding the photo frame of us two when we got married. i could tell she ached, every step of that dance must have struck her with grief.

the water rippled again, my darling began to fade out of sight, i stumbled into the fountain searching to see her again. it was hopeless. i sat in pity as the water ran through my body. i mean after all i'm dead! i don't even have a body nor a mind. yet it still hurts knowing i cant go home to the smell of fresh apple pies and a warm, loving hug after a long day at work.

a few hours had toppled over my head, yet again the water rippled, scrambling to my feet i stared into the fountain waiting for my sweet wife to be revealed. there she was. all cozy on the sofa, and what appeared to be knitting our annual Christmas stockings, the fireplace was dressed in them. she was finishing mine off to hang. my heart danced with joy and my cheeks flushed a scarlet red of knowing she loves me even though i'm now a ghost.

admiring my fair lady, she had in fact fell asleep whilst finishing her knitting. my smile faded as i noticed she had no blanket or source of warmth. i banged against the fountain in hope i could go and assist her. after minutes and minutes of desperation it stopped running water. a small blade appeared at the top of the fountain, reaching for it i noticed it was a lever, hesitantly pulling it unsure of where it would lead me. after falling for what felt like eternity, i found myself at home once again.

there she was. the most perfect woman i lay eyes on. her soft brown hair rested against her warm face. her eyelashes lay on her cheek, her lips slightly pouting. i was home again.

before i moved, i checked my feet. they were still transparent. i was still dead. despite that i wanted to help my love, reaching for the hand knitted blanket we were gifted at the wedding i gently wrapped it around her small figure.

admiring Anita i soon found myself having to leave her again. the greatest pain was about to be overwhelming yet again. i gently kissed her forehead and pulled the lever. my body couldn't bare the pain anymore, i found myself collapsed on the cold slate.

i was back up here. all alone. just the fountain to keep me alive by seeing Anita. My only love.
