Ellis stood out on the balcony of the 14th floor downtown condo overlooking the city. There were so many lights that moved and flickered it was almost felt like a painting come to life. Almost hypnotic in a way.

The date had gone better than expected; he had brought her out to a restaurant in Del Sol. It may not of been 5 stars but it was definitely nice, the kind of place they charged $20 for just an appetizer. They even continued to sit after their meal just talking getting to to know each other more. (Him controlling most of the conversation but she didn't mind) That was why she didn't hesitate when he had invited her back to his place after dinner for a drink.

She didn't know what exactly she had been expecting his place to look like but this wasn't it. The condo wasn't the biggest one in the building but it was by no means small like all the apartments she lived in & his modern minimalist style seemed just immaculate. Quiet opposite of her bright colors & clutter but she definitely liked it.

She knew that Evan had been "well off" as he put it over dinner but this was proof he had managed to amass quite a bit of money. You'd have to, to have a place like this, in a place like Del Sol .

She heard the glass door slide open behind her.

"Like the view?" He said, handing her a glass of red wine. She smiled at the gesture, he hadn't even asked her what she wanted he just seemed to know. He must have been paying attention at dinner.

"It's amazing." She said as she took a sip gazing out at the city.

"I hope so I pay a lot of money for it." He said, taking a drink of his whiskey. They both sat quietly for a few moments with their drinks before Ellis spoke up again.

"You know something's bothering me." She said turning to him not sure if she should of been bringing it up.

"What?" He said, cocking an eyebrow at her.

"A guy like you, living in a place like this. How the hell are you single?"

"I could ask you the same." He asked her right back and she took a moment debating on what to tell him.

'He's going to find out eventually you might as well let him go now.' a voice said 'Better than dragging it out like you usually do.' Another voice berated. 'Out of your league anyways.'

"Shut up." she mumbled trying to make them stop.

"You ok?" He asked, she just shook her head knowing that they were right. It was fun while it lasted.

"Honestly? I'm crazy." She blurted out, taking a large drink of her wine she was going to need it.

"Isn't everyone?"

"No I am crazy, crazy. I have schizophrenia." She corrected him, he cocked his head to the side slightly looking down at her.

"Like you hear voices?" He probed.

"And see things." She added with a shrug looking down at the glass in her hand embarrassed. "I'm not like a serial killer or anything. 90% of the time I'm fine but every once & a while it gets really, really hard to tell whats real & whats not. Freaks people out. So if you want me to leave now I totally can. No harm, no foul." She offered.

He took a few moments as if silently thinking something over before looking her over once.

"My cousin has that too. Totally normal dude. I get it." He said casually. "Besides, I don't want you to leave. Not yet." she turned slightly pink when he said he wanted her to stay.

"Ok so you know about me, what about you? There is no way a guy like you should be a bachelor." It was her turn to probe now & she was going to take it.

"Me?" He said, taking a swig of his whiskey his tone changed suddenly. "I was in a serious relationship a long time ago. Everything was going really well till she started getting really insecure. Kept saying I was cheating on her, snooping through my phone & all my stuff. Saying all my late nights were actually with other women not actually working. Then complaining about me not being around. I can't deal with that kind of drama."

"That makes sense."

"Insecurity is always unattractive in a female. I don't need some little girl who wants to snop & cause drama." He said as he slowly moved closer looking down at her.

"That's actually what attracted me to you Ellis, you don't seem like the type of insecure little girl like I usually date. You're different aren't you?" Putting a finger under her chin gently tilting her head up to look at him as his thumb caressed her cheek.

Ellis could practically feel herself melt under his touch. Looking up at him she knew at that moment she would have agreed with anything he said. That was if she could get the words out.

"No...no I wouldn't." She finally managed to get out.

"Good."

Leaning down his lips met hers not rough but not soft either. Seeing as she didn't move back he wasted no time as the hand that was under her chin moved down to her lower back pulling her into him while his other still held his drink. Her free hand moved around her neck as she leaned up on her toes to get closer. They continued like that for a few moments before he pulled back with a smirk.

"You know my bedroom has just as good of a view Babydoll."

"Show me." She said he let out a chuckle, grabbing her hand and pulling her back inside.
