All right, let me tell this story.
The music was blaring and my head was thumping along. I had a drink in my hand and I was in the corner of the room and my shy ass didn't like talking to people. I saw a girl across the room, smoking weed with the football boys. She had clips in her hair. The ones from Walmart. They are in little cute shapes like butterflies. Yeah, she had a lot of those in her hair. The beautiful, split-dyed hair. She was gorgeous. She had beautiful makeup and the most wonderful clothes.
Do you know what she looked like? An Insta baddie. She looked like one of those. Stunning. I noticed I was staring, and soon she looked at me. She made eye contact and said something to the boys. Then, this girl walked over to me, blunt still in hand. She had a smile on her face and I almost fell over at the thought of her talking to me.
"Hi," she said. Her voice was angelic and it made me smile.
"Hello," I said back.
She stuck her hand out her hand. Her name was Sarah.
"I'm Layla," I replied.
She smiled. "That's a pretty name."
I blush. "Thank you. I like your name too."
"Thank you," Sarah replied. "Can I see your phone?" she asked, kinda randomly.
"Um, sure," I replied, not wanting her to leave. I pulled it out of my pocket and handed it to her.
"Thanks," she replied. I nodded as she opened my phone. I couldn't tell what she was doing, she was typing something. She then did what looked like she was taking a picture. A beautiful picture. She then closed my phone and handed it back to me. "I just added my number. Text me if you want."
"Will do," I said shyly, not wanting her to leave.
She smiled. She then offered me her weed. "Want some?"
I took it from her hand and took a huff. I tried not to cough, not wanting to look like a loser in front of her. The effect it had was magical. I smiled and that made her smile.
"You have a lovely smile," she said.
I blushed heavily. "Thank you. You do too," I said.
She scoffed. "Yeah sure," she said.
I laughed and then she laughed along.
"Well, I'm going to go back to my mates, but I'll talk with you later," she said. "See ya around, Layla."
I smiled. "See you, Sarah," I said.
She walked away and I already missed her, watching as her hair swayed back and forth. She sat down with her friends, casting a couple of looks at me.
I left the party soon after, not wanting to stay longer, knowing Sarah wasn't going to come back and talk with me. I walked out of the house, walking down the road. It wasn't a short walk to my house, but I didn't mind. It was slightly raining outside, with a slight pater on the ground. I loved it. I started walking through the giant field leading to my neighborhood.
I heard yelling behind me, but in this part of town, it was basically expected. It got closer and I got a little worried. I pulled the knife out of my pocket secretly. I heard the yelling get closer. I didn't know what they were saying, but it was really weird. I heard that they got super close and I turned around, flipping them over, holding the knife to their neck. Mud splashed around their body, splashing my arm.
I looked and saw who it was. Sarah.
"Layla, my god," she said. "Didn't you hear me calling your name?"
