Run Away

Miss Salem rides along country road on bicycle. She rides forward to front of Gale's home -- stops and get off her bicycle as Uncle Klein comes forward – 

Ozpin was shocked to see the face of his ex-wife, back before the trouble with the Brother Gods. It was a sight he was happy to see once again.

Miss Salem: Mr. Gale!

Uncle Klein: Howdy, Miss Salem.

Miss Salem: I want to see you and your wife right away....

Ruby: Oh no!

Weiss: (Evil Weiss Mode) If she dare hurt that adorable little fur ball, then she'll face the wrath of me *Thunder strike*

Everyone in the audience had utter expressions of confusion.

Uncle Klein and Miss Salem at gate -- they speak -- Uncle Klein lets go of the gate -- it hits Miss Salem -- she reacts -- Uncle Klein puts paint brush down

Miss Salem: ...about Ruby

Uncle Klein: Ruby? Well, what has Ruby done? 

Miss Salem: What's she done? I'm all but lame from the bite on my leg! 

Uncle Klein: You mean she bit you? 

Miss Salem: No, her dog! 

Uncle Klein: Oh, she bit her dog, eh? 

Miss Salem: NO!

Most in the audience laughed or chuckled at the mix-up, even those who didn't held in slight snickers to maintain their professional demeanours.

Gale Sitting room -- Aunt Maria and Miss Salem seated – Ruby enters -- carrying Zwei in her arms -- Miss Salem shows order to Aunt Maria -- Uncle Klein enters-- looks at the order -- Miss Salem picks up basket -- rises – Ruby screams at Miss Salem -- Miss Salem tries to take Zwei away from Ruby -- Uncle Klein takes Zwei -- puts him into basket –

Miss Salem: That dog's a menace to the community. I'm taking him to the sheriff and make sure he's destroyed.

Team RW_Y: NO!

Team JNPR: NO!

Qrow: NO!

Blake: *Quirks an eyebrow*

Zwei: Bark! (No no no no no! Please, I'll be a good boy, I'll do whatever you say. Please don't let me be destroyed Cookie Queen! Golden Lady, Bird Man!?)

Ruby: Don't worry Zwei, she won't hurt you!

The others believe that this course of action is far to rash and are quite distasteful towards Miss Salem's decision.

Ruby: Destroyed? Zwei? Oh, you can't! You mustn't! Auntie Maria! Uncle Klein! You won't let her, will you?

Uncle Klein: Of course we won't. Will we, Em?

Ruby: Please, Aunt Maria, Zwei didn't mean to. He didn't know he was doing anything wrong. I'm the one that ought to be punished. I let him go in her garden. You can send me to bed without supper –

Yang: Always so noble, eh Ruby?

Ruby: If it mean's I can keep Zwei safe, then yes.

Miss Salem: If you don't hand over that dog, I'll bring a damage suit that'll take your whole farm! There's a law protecting folks against dogs that bite!

Aunt Maria: How would it be if she keeps him tied up? He's really gentle -- with gentle people, that is.

Miss Salem: Well, that's for the Sheriff to decide. Here's his order allowing me to take him. Unless you want to go against the law.

Uncle Klein: Uhh -- yeah –

Aunt Maria: Now, we can't go against the law, Ruby. I'm afraid poor Zwei will have to go.

Miss Salem: Now you're seeing reason.

Ruby: No –

Miss Salem: Here's what I'm taking him in -- so he can't attack me again.

Ruby: Oh, no, no! I won't let you take him! You go away, you....! Oooh, I'll bite you myself!

Ruby: Heck yeah I will!

Qrow: Hehehe, make sure to only go for the arms, they'll hurt the most.

Winter: Stop encouraging her you hooligan!

Aunt Maria: Ruby!

Ruby: You wicked old witch! Uncle Klein, Auntie Maria, don't let 'em take Zwei! Don't let her take him -- please!

Miss Salem: Here! I've got an order! Let me have...

Ruby: Stop her!

Aunt Maria: Put him in the basket, Henry.

Miss Salem: The idea!

Ruby: Oh, don't, Uncle Klein. Oh, Zwei! Don't...

Narrator 04 Ruby runs out of the room 

Ruby: *Starts to cry* Zwei... no.

Zwei is in her lap trying to cheer her up by licking her face.

Yang: *Red eyed mode* Don't worry Ruby, she won't get away with it.

Aunt Maria rises -- looks after Ruby -- then turns to Miss Salem and Uncle Klein -- Aunt Maria speaks to Miss Salem -- Uncle Klein sit in chair

Aunt Maria: Salem Emerald, just because you own half the county doesn't mean you have the power to run the rest of us! For twenty-three years, I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now -- well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it!

Qrow: Huh, well can't really go against churches I guess.

Ruby: But, Uncle Qrow. You kinda do that all the time.

Qrow: Well pipsqueak, It's kinda cause... well... I got nothin'.

Narrator 05 Miss Salem riding bicycle – basket on back of bicycle -- Zwei sticks his head out -- looks about – then jumps out. Ruby sitting on the floor by bed -- crying -- Zwei jumps in through the window and onto bed. Ruby hugs him -- reacts -- speaks to him -- then takes suitcase from under bed -- starts packing it -- (Zwei barks)

Everyone gave a sigh of relief, some quieter than others as Zwei returned to Ruby.

Ruby: Zwei, darling! Oh, I got you back! You came back! Oh, I'm so glad! Zwei! Oh, they'll be coming back for you in a minute. We've got to get away! We've got to run away -- quick!

Ozpin: Miss Rose, I don't believe running away from your problems is a good idea.

Ruby: Sorry Professor Ozpin, I just don't want Zwei taken away again.

Ozpin: Very well, I do hope you know what you're doing.

The Watcher smirks as he knows who Ruby's going to come across while running away.

Authors Note: Sorry for the long gap, I've got work currently and my motivation for writing just comes and goes. Hope you've enjoyed and I'll do my best for the next chapter.
