I was running through an alley, running from him. I didn’t know where I was going or when it was going to be safe to stop, I just knew if I did I would die. I glance behind me and see a black robed figure still following me. I began panicking. Where was I going to go? I keep running looking for any way to get out of this alley; finally one person comes to mind. One person who has always been here to help, he would know where I could go. I quickly run into a crowded restaurant around the corner. He wouldn’t follow me in here, too many people for him. I pull out my phone and dial by memory. “Hello?” I hear in the receiver. “Tony! Thank God your awake!” I say fast. “Terra? What’s going on?” Tony says. “I need your help Tony their after me.” I say close to breaking down. “Shit, Terra you knew this was going to happen sooner or later.” He says. “Well I was counting on later, I’m pregnant Tony.” I say. “Fuck, alright come to my house, he can’t come in unless I invite him and I sure the hell won’t.” he says. “Alright same place right?” I ask. “Of course.” He says. “K see you in a bit.” I say smiling to myself. He was always here to help me out, and I needed him now more than ever. I rush out of the restaurant not bothering to look around. I make my way a few blocks before I check to see if I’m being followed. No good I’m in the clear for now. I find Tony’s house with ease, id been here many times before. I walk up and knock on the door. “Who is it?” I hear Tony ask. “It’s me.” I say waiting patiently. “That was fast.” He says opening the door. “Can’t forget how to get here.” I say laughing as I walk in. “Wait how can you come in? I didn’t invite you yet.” He says confused. “Don’t need to you already have before.” I say sitting on the couch. “Oh well what are you going to do?” he asks sitting beside me. “Get on a plane and get the fuck out of here.” I say. “Oh do you have money? A place to go?” he asks. “No I was going to worry about that later.” I say. He gets up and walks back a few minutes later. “Here” He says handing me an envelope. “Don’t open this until you’re at the airport.” He says serious. “Okay.” I say looking at it. “Now as for where you’re going to go. Go to Cali, my parents have a beach house there that they left me, take it.” He says handing me a pair of keys. “I can’t do that.” I say looking at the keys. “Yes you can Terra.” He says. “I better go before it gets too dangerous for you.” I say standing up. I wasn’t good with this emotional stuff. “Alright but call me when you get there.” He says embracing me in a hug. “I will.” I say before walking out the door, out of my old life. The life of hiding and running. It all started right after I became a vampire. I was left with no one and nothing forever doomed to be hunted. That was 10 years ago.

“Amber-Lynn you get your ass down these stairs right now!” I yell. “Yes momma?” she says looking down. “Don’t you yes momma me, look at this mess!” I say. “You know better than to leave your things just laying around like that.” I say. “I know.” She says. “Clean it up and then we’ll go out and get something to eat.” I say. “Okay mom.” She says picking her things up. Having a daughter and not aging is one of the hardest things ever. I was waiting for the day when she would start questioning everything. “All finished.” She says smiling up at me. It was hard to stay mad at her when she looked so precious. My little miracle angel. “Alright you ready to go then?” I ask. “Yupp.” She says smiling still. “Well let’s go then.” I say laughing. A few minutes later we pull up to Red Robin. It had become her favorite and mine. Before I could even get out the car she was already at my door helping me out. “Come on mom!” she says pulling me by the arm. “Chill out woman” I say laughing as I lock the car. Once were all done eating I decide to take her to the park. “I think its park time.” I say smiling down at her. “Yay!” she says running back to the car. “Come on mom!” she says. After the park I take her back to the house. “Music time!” she says putting in an Escape the Fate cd. “I’m going to marry Ronnie one day!” she says laughing. “Of course you will baby.” I say laughing too.

I wake up in a cold sweat. That was all just a dream. A memory. My little angel wasn’t little anymore. She was all grown up, she was engaged, engaged to Aaron Graves of Vampires Everywhere. He was a nice man very sweet to my daughter. The wedding was in a week and I was to walk her down the aisle. I had a 10 o’clock plane to L.A. to meet her. I glance at the clock and see its 8:30. Damn I never sleep; I get up and begin to pack my bag. This was going to be a long flight. By 9:30 I was all packed and on my way to the airport. 2 hours later I arrive at L.A.X. it had been a while since I had seen Amber but I was still excited. Soon enough a car pulls up and there she is. My little girl all grown up. “Mom!” she says rushing over to me. “Hey girlie.” I say smiling at her. She was so beautiful. “Let’s get back to the house. I wanna introduce you to everyone.” She says pulling me to the car. 10 minutes later we were at her house. We walk into the living room to see everyone. “Guys listen up.” Amber says gathering everyones attention. “This is my mom Terra.”she says pointing to me. “Mom this is Cyndy my best friend, Aaron my fiancé, Cynthia my other best friend, DJ her fiancé, Brandy my best friend too, Ben her fiancé, and Michael Cyndys fiancé.” She says pointing to each person. “Nice to meet you all.” I say smiling at everyone. The wedding was to be the next day. By the time of the wedding I had talked to everyone. The weddings were lovely. My daughter and her friends had looked beautiful. That was also the day my daughter found out I was a vampire and I found out that she as well as her friends were too.

Again I was running but this time I was running through the woods. This time I didn’t know who I was running from just that my life depended on me not being caught. I continue running never looking behind me. Before I know it I make it to a cliff. Shit left or right. I choose left I turn and start running again. I ran faster than I ever had. I had no idea where I was or where I was going just that I needed to keep running. Suddenly I feel something grab the back of my hair. “No point in running anymore Terra.” A male voice says. “Who are you?” I ask. “You don’t remember? Ha.” The voice says. “I’m not in the mood for games.” I say angrily. “Neither am I!” he says slapping me. “Creatures like you don’t deserve to live!” he adds throwing me to the ground. This was it, I didn’t run fast enough or far enough. I didn’t follow the one rule. Never stop running.

I look around and see nothing but dark walls. I was locked inside a cell of some sort. I had no idea where I was. Soon a man came in. “Let me fucking go!” I scream. He just laughs and opens the cell door. He throws me over his shoulder and carries me into another room. He ties my arms up and walks over to a table. I look around. This was a room for torture; he was going to torture me before he killed me. “Just kill me.” I beg. I wasn’t big on torture. “This is more fun for me.” He says. He grabs a whip and hits me across the back. He grabs me by the back of the hair and hits me. “Please just kill me already.” I say. “That would be too easy for you.” He says walking back over to the table. He grabs a pair of wire cutters and walks back over to me. “Please don’t.” I say on the verge of tears. He grabs my hand and cuts off my fingers. I scream but nothing comes out. There was nothing left to scream for. He walks away and comes back with a knife in his hand. This was it. Death was the only sure thing now. Before I can even think he stabs me. Not just once but multiple times. After he leaves. I never saw him again. I just laid there waiting for death to overcome me. It was the only thing I was sure of. I watch as my blood slowly seeps around me, enveloping me in red. My breathe gets shallow and my vision starts to blur. My time was almost over. The last thing I remember before I died was that I had failed, I had failed everyone.
