I walked into Mr. Holland's office with his mail and I placed it on his desk. "These came for you sir" "thank you y/n, so rumor says that tomorrow is your birthday." "Oh it's not a big deal, I'll probably just stay here" "no, tomorrow night you will be able to go anywhere and do anything you want but just for that night so use your time well." "Thank you sir." I smirked and walked away to my desk.
"Y/n! Can you come here for a second?" Mr. Holland called from his office. I quickly got up and walked to his desk. "Yes sir? Is anything wrong? Do you need something?" He got up and walked over to the other side of his desk and handed me an envelope. "No I don't thank you but, this came for you. But don't open it till tomorrow." He winked at me and I immediately started blushing. I thanked him and walked to my room to put the envelope in my drawer.
I walked back to my desk to hear my phone ringing. I picked it up and said "hello? Yes I'll ask him" I walked back to mr. Holland's room and said "sir, it's Linda. She wants to know what you want for dinner" "surprise me" he looked up at me and smiled. I walked back to my desk tried from running around everywhere and continued my work after telling Linda to 'surprise him'.
The next day I woke up and saw a note on my drawer. I picked it up and it said 'put on the outfit laid out for you in your closet and then come to my office. Bring the envelope. -Tom'. I grabbed the envelope and quickly got to Toms office after getting ready. I knocked on his door and he said "come in!" I walked in and he said "ah y/n, I see you saw my note." "Yep, so you needed me?" "Yes, open the envelope."
He walked over to me and I immediately got butterflies. I slowly opened the envelope to find a happy birthday card with a moonstone necklace in it. This is the necklace:

My mouth dropped at the beautiful moonstone necklace. "Happy birthday y/n" "this is beautiful sir! Thank you so much!" I quickly wrapped my arms around him and I tightly hugged him. He was surprised at first but then hugged me back. I pulled away from the hug with the necklace still in my hands and I said "uh do you mind helping me put it on?" "Yes, of course."
I turned around and moved my hair to the side and eh put the necklace on me. I turned back around and he had somehow gotten a lot closer to me than he was before. "I should uhm go text my friend" I went back to my desk and started smiling.
I texted my friend Allison and told her to meet me at our favorite bar around 8pm.
