Before Them (TMR Fanifc)

~David’s P.O.V.~

Dani is so perfect. She’s got fire, sweetness, she’s kind, smart, and she’s beautiful. When we fell asleep together, it made my heart tingle. It felt as though I was supposed to hold her in my arms. Graham walked out on her when she remembered her name. I could punch him for that, she doesn’t deserve hate from him. She’s only been here two days and I already feel like I love her.

I walked out of Dani’s room with her still sleeping soundly. I started walking to find Graham and confront him about Dani. I found him standing before the Maze doors about to go in. I could see that he was crying because his eyes were red and puffy, and the hair that goes over his eyes was wet. I kept thinking, Don’t go in, don’t go in. The other Gladers were already surrounding us. I couldn’t see Dani anywhere. Good, I thought.

Graham took one step into the Maze and we saw the wasps come out of the vines in the walls, we all stepped in with him.

~Graham’s P.O.V.~

The Maze was standing right in front of me, I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to Dani. I still don’t know why I feel like this about her, I just know that I need to be protective of her, but I can’t protect her in here. I don’t know what I’m doing or why I’m doing this but I have to to keep Dani safe from everything.

I kept walking slower and slower until I reached the middle of the Maze walls.I saw Dani running towards the opening of the walls, crying. Why was she crying over me? I said in my mind.I kept walking, everyone including David was walking behind me, Dani was the only one not following me.

We each got stung by a wasp, everyone was either screaming or dead already. I yelled something that I never in a million years would have said.

“I’M SORRY DANI, I LOVE YOU!!!” I screamed so loudly before I fell. David was next to me.

“DANI, I LOVE YOU, NEVER FORGET ME!!” I heard David’s voice echoing through the walls before my eyes closed.
