He was gone, dead. All my life, he was the one who had kept me here, alive; but now he was gone.
His room had lost all of its warmth and joy. The wet dog stench was quickly faded from the air; even our bed smelled more of my tears than his smile.
I took a gasping breath, my body trying to give itself the oxygen I so desperately wanted to deny it.
A knock sounded.
"come in," I chocked out.
"Professor Lupin?" A voice too akin to James' said.
"Call me Uncle Moony. That's what you called me when you were a baby,"
"Okay, Uncle Moony,"
I smiled. Maybe I wasn't the only Marauder left standing.
