I walked past the local night market, dodging scooters and people, finally reaching the zebra crossing. Red..... Amber..... Green! I started walking with my hands in the pockets of my jacket, bobbing my head in time to the music playing in my mind, sometimes closing my eyes to remember the lyrics, I didn't notice myself slowly walking out of the white lines that marked the edge of the zebra crossing.
They're so pretty it's painful..? No that's not right, what is it? I stopped walking to think, Ah! They're so pretty it hurts! That's it, I grinned.
I turned my head towards the bright light that was now only mere feet away from me.
Shit
It's a car, there's no way I can escape this
I'm sorry, mom.
I closed my eyes, and accepted my fate.
The last thought on my mind was my girlfriend, still waiting for me to come home with dinner, probably ranting about some movie she watched earlier.
This all happened in a matter of seconds, of course, but thoughts go at lightning fast speed, I had enough time to think of her, just before I died.
Bang
I was laying on the floor, which was weird, I'm supposed to be dead, how can I be laying down? A bead of sweat rolled down my forehead, wait- sweat? It was the middle of winter, so why do I feel hot?
The truth hit me as hard as a truck.
I was in hell.
I immediately sat up, looking around frantically. there! There were huge black gates, around 50 meters tall and 100 meters wide, making it look more like a wall rather then a gate. The famous gates of hell, didn't live up to the hype, it wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be, pretty bland, actually, Satan should get a architect over here.
I ran over to the gates, a good 200 meters away, wait- are those... people? I squinted, cursing my bad eyesight.
Yes, they were! Those were people! Actual people!
The group started to walk through the gates, I felt panicked, "Hey! Wait for me! Please! Don't leave me!" I desperately screamed at them, running even faster.
The group turned their heads, smiling.
"We will never leave you. We go in as one, okay?" A girl with brown hair and blue eyes said, offering her hand to me.
I smiled softly, gripping her hand.
"Okay."
