"What's wrong?" He asked. "My grandpa died." I said. "It's okay." He said. "I need to go to Maryland." I said."I will go with you." He said. "What about Broadway?" I asked. "I have a understudy. So I'm covered." He said.
2 days later
We landed in Maryland. We grabbed our bags. We went outside. My mom's car pulled up. She got out of the car.
I hugged her. She hugged back. We put the suitcases in the trunk. We went to my grandmother's house. We got out.
We went inside.
Two months later
I was on my way to a summer camp called camp centerstage. I got there really early. It was around 6:30 am.
I got out of the car. My phone rang. I answered. "Hi." I said. "Hi. I hope you have a great time."Roman said on the other end of the phone.
"I will. I will miss you." I said. "Me too." He said. "I love you." I said. "I love you too." He said. "Bye." We both said.
I walked into my cabin. I fell asleep.
7 hours later
The hair and makeup crew got me ready. I walked outside. Alexis walked over to me. "Hey Ashley." She said. "Hey Alexis." I said.
"I'm so sorry about your grandfather." She said. "It's okay." I said. "It's so nice to see you again." She said. "You too." I said.
"So what is your name?" She asked. "It's Sarah." I said. Someone walked over to us."Wait Ashley you forgot your glasses." He said.
He handed them over. I put them on. He walked away.
2 weeks later
Today was the talent show. I was so nervous. "Up next we have Sarah." The person said. I walked onto the stage. The music started.
someone started singing.
🎶I've learned to slam on the brake
Before I even turn the key
Before I make the mistake
Before I lead with the worst of meGive them no reason to stare
No slipping up if you slip away
So I got nothing to share
No, I got nothing to say🎶I looked at the person. It was Roman. I started singing.
🎶Step out, step out of the sun if you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun because you've learned
Because you've learned🎶He joined in.
🎶On the outside always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
'Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
I'm waving through a window
I tried to speak but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
I'm waving through a window
Can anybody see, is anybody waving back at me?We start with stars in our eyes
We start believing that we belong
But every sun doesn't rise
And no one tells you where you went wrongStep out, step out of the sun if you keep getting burned
Step out, step out of the sun because you've learned
Because you've learnedOn the outside always looking in
Will I ever be more than I've always been?
Cause I'm tap, tap, tapping on the glass
Waving through a window
I tried to speak but nobody can hear
So I wait around for an answer to appear
While I'm watch, watch, watching people pass
Waving through a window
Can anybody see, is anybody waving?
