JULY 2018

NEW YORK, USA

One sunny morning, Ariana woke up with a huge smile on her face. After doing her morning routines, she hurried to her kitchen to cook something.

She decided to make a pasta dish. She hummed and danced to the tune while cooking her breakfast. She's in a good mood.

It's been a few days since the video came out and a few weeks since they shot it. Most people loved it. It brought her tons of new fans, praising her acting skills and professionalism for being able to play the role effectively even if she is in a relationship.

Well... was.

The day the video came out, it took everyone by surprise... including her former fiancé – just in a bad way. When everyone left, and they were finally alone in their New York apartment... Pete confronted her – while drunk and high.

The confrontation is a must though. He deserved an apology and an explanation, which Ariana gave. She became completely honest to him, told him about her true feelings and apologized for using him as a rebound. She thanked him for all the things he did for her. A beautiful distraction, indeed, until he showed his other side, and everything went downhill. Getting physical is definitely not necessary.

Ariana feared for her life that day. Pete was trashing their apartment, throwing vases and frames around. It was a bad idea to explain a difficult situation to an intoxicated angry person.

He got physical with Ariana that the latter had to be sneaky and dial her friends for help. She endured all the screams and curses coming out from Pete's mouth while waiting for Courtney and Victoria. But she stood her ground when he slapped her and slapped him back.

Even if she's shaking that time, she managed to call it off, throwing the ring at him and saying, "I want you gone in this apartment by tomorrow." with a cold tone as she left the apartment with her friends.

A few days later, Ariana felt free and refreshed. She's been happy after she got over from that frightful night. It was an extremely terrible one, but she was glad to find the apartment cleaned up and empty when she mustered the courage to go back.

Ariana's phone rang and because she's been expecting a call, she hurried to pick it up. "Oh... it's just Scooter." She sighed but answered it anyway. "Hi!"

"I have something to tell you." Her manager flatly said.

"Good morning to you too." Ariana said sarcastically. "But, go on... I'm listening."

"Congratulations on the video by the way." Scooter uttered.

"That was a few days ago, but thanks." Ariana simply replied. She put the call on loudspeaker so she could get back to cooking.

"I received a call earlier from an Oscar-winning director. Apparently, he is looking for actors for the show they are making."

Ariana lowered the stove temperature. "Okay? So, are you telling me that you're gonna audition?" She joked.

"No, he wants you in it." Scooter told her seriously, completely ignoring her joke.

"Yeah, well... I have an album coming next month that I have to promote." She said while reaching for a clean plate.

"I'm your manager. Of course, I know that." Ariana rolled her eyes and whispered 'jerk'.

"But you see... he has seen the music video and-"
