gyuri laid in the guest bed, a million thoughts swarming through her increasingly aching head. she wanted to scream at herself for having such thoughts, but past experience told her that wasn't the best approach.

it was overwhelming, and the ravenette could tell it was starting to affect the people around her.

they'd been spamming her phone asking if something had happened for her to miss such an important event, but gyuri couldn't bring herself to tell them the truth. she hated being weak like this, especially when it had already happened once before.

burying her face in the pillow, a gentle knock grabbed her attention, the action so soft that gyuri barely heard it. she recognized the sound of the door open, and suddenly she wasn't alone in the room anymore.

"gyu?" the said girl pinched her eyes shut, not wanting anyone to see her vulnerable. "go away."

"i'll leave but... are you okay?"

"do i look okay, lucas?" the boy closed the door and stood in front of it, not wanting to approach her without an 'okay'. "you don't. i won't force you to talk to me, but i'm here for you."

gyuri pulled her bottom lips between her teeth, tired of falling weak to words. "why?"

and then she was crying.

lucas was by her side in a second, sitting beside her and rubbing her back as she buried her face in her hands. "god, i hate this. i'm... i'm so tired, cas."

honestly, he didn't know what to do. so, lucas said what she'd said to him when he needed someone. "i'm here for you, gyuri. always. you're not alone."

"then why do i feel like i'm drowning? i need help, cas." the raventte whimpered, not wanting to pull her face from her hands. "this isn't about my dad anymore, this... this feeling..."

"i'll help—"

"i can't go back there." the bartender's brows drew together in confusion, "back where?" "there!" she shouted, head rising from between her palms and falling on the worried eyes belonging to someone she cared for.
