Chapter 27
Bella’s POV:-
Since the day Caleb and I had resolved our differences, I wanted to make everything right. Everything…including the past.. And so, I had wished to talk to David sooner rather than later. But it was quite a shock when I found him standing infront of my in-laws Summer-house without any prior notice.
“David, what are you doing here?” I asked as the man strode towards me.
“Came to see you” He smirked at me.
“Why? How did you even know where I was?” I asked in surprise.
“I called you many times.. Finally someone named Rebecca answered and told me where you were…” He came forward and stood facing me.
That girl..!!!
The more I want to believe that she would change, the more she makes me hate her…!!
“What else did she tell you?” I asked.
“Nothing much… How are you Bella? Are they treating you well here? I came to bring you back.” David’s statement shocked me. Back?
“Back? Why would you want to do that?” I asked in confusion.
“Because you hate it here… Because it’s all fake, isn’t it? You are going to divorce him soon, so why pretend to be such a good wife?” David’s words made me realize that he knew too much.. too much...
“David, you are wrong..” I nodded my head and before he could protest I lifted up my hand to stop him, “But, I need to speak to you about something important. Remember the papers I gave you about the French Company that you had to forward to Josh Hamilton??”
He smiled, “Yes, I remember. That’s the only way you can destroy Ryder..”
I gulped down in fear, “I want you to cancel it..”
“What?” He asked in bafflement.
“I want you to cancel it. Call off the deal. Don’t send those papers, David. I will explain later, but don’t give them to Josh Hamilton….. What?” I asked the last part as I saw his face.
He looked at me in amusement, “Bella, what are you talking about? I have already handed them to the Hamiltons..”
