CHAPTER 1

Logan's

"Get Back Here"

I ran after my three years old daughter.

"No mama, try and catch me" she said.

I hid behind the couch, kept mute and waited for her to pass behind the couch.

"Mama" Where are you? She asked.

I kept mute and watch her tiptoe towards the couch.

I stood up and grab her.

"Ta Da" I caught you. She giggles and I smiled to myself. She's so beautiful and smart for her age.

Rita is just the exact replica of her mother which was my sister, honey brown eyes with a chocolate skin and head full with brown hair.  

So, let's go get dressed up. Ready to meet Celina?

"Yes Yes Yes" I laughed at her excitement.

Celina is my best friend's daughter. She's two years older than Rita.

"Mama I wear this pink dress, okay? Yes baby. You can wear that.

I put on her pink dress for her,braid her hair and she left to pick out her shoe. I settled for a baggy Jeans, a loose top and pair of Jordan.

I'm an Intersex. Yeah, I can get someone pregnant.

"Mama I ready" I looked at my baby girl and notice she's wearing her shoes wrongly. I kneel down and adjust the shoe. "All done baby" She smiled.

"Kiss Kiss" I shook my head and kiss her forhead then we head out.

"Hey Bestie" Jane ran towards me and hugged me tight.

"Jane c-cal-calm do-wn. I can't breathe" I said.

"But I missed you" Jane said.

I rolled my eyes at her.

"I was here yesterday night and now it's just 9:43am" She pulled back and rolled her eyes.

"You know you are my only best friend and I'm so use to you" She said while playing with my cheeks.

I looked around for Rita and noticed she's gone. I guess she's with Celina upstairs.

So, what's your plan for the weekend? Jane asked.

"I don't know. Just chill with you, Lina and Rita. We can take them to the park. What do you think? "Sounds cool" she said.

"By the wayyyy, we need to hit the club on Sunday night. It's been a while and you are coming, no excuses. We are gonna drop the kids off at my mom's place" Jane said.

"But Jane, you know I've got an interview on Monday morning. Going to the club a night before is not gonna do any good. Besides, we can't stress Mama D with looking after the kids.

"Hey, I told you no excuses, right? One, nothing can go wrong with going to the club and Two, my mum is not complaining so it's settled. We are going".

I sigh and gave up. I guess I'm going too.

  Jane and I have been best friends since my sister was still alive. We were inseparable. She knows everything about me just as I do about her. I lost my parents since childhood. She lost her dad five years ago. It was hard for Mama Diana but thanks to the kids keeping her company.

    Jane's husband is a total asshole and a drunkard. He was a gentleman when I knew him but he suddenly changed after Lina was born.

  He beats on Jane, call her names and accused her of cheating. Later, She fought for full custody of Lina and she won and since then, she's been a single mother.

  And me, I've been in three different relationships and none has worked out so far. I decide to stick to my baby girl Rita, she's my smile and means everything to me, just like Jane and her family means everything to me.
