The Vampire Queen's Heart (One Shot)

The human race is gaining strength and knowledge that is prejudicial to the existence of the supernaturals. Numerous scientific research in addition with their connivance with the witches had led them to discover easy ways to kill even the strongest vampires and werewolves. The so-called weakest race, the humans, had tilted the fates to their favor.

Dahyun, the vampire queen is sitting still on her throne, thinking of ways to overcome their dilemna. Her advisors often tell her to unite with the werewolves, their sworn enemy, yet through the lapse of time, became their strongest allies in their silent war with the human race and the witches.

"Queen, must you think deeply of our suggestion? There is no other way. Our alliance with the werewolves is getting stronger yet our people needs an assurance that they will not betray us. A union between you and the Alpha will make the bond stronger."

"A union does not guarantee loyalty as well. If the silent war with the human race ends, the werewolves may betray us, they are our sworn enemy." Dahyun stated vehemently, opposed to the idea of being bound to someone she clearly do not love.

"Fret not, my queen. If you become their Luna, they will consider you as their own. They will not harm you nor will they harm your people. It is in accordance with their oldest laws. Werewolves are known for their familial devotion."

She sighed. As the queen, she must do everything for the sake of her people, even if it means sacrificing her heart.
Love really is just a privilege given to some royals, and she may not be a part of the privileged ones.

"Send a scroll to the werewolf Kingdom. I need the presence of their Alpha."

"Right away my Queen."

As the Queen, she must do what is supposed to be done.

Just two days after Queen Dahyun's contemplation, the Alpha with his most trusted pack members came to the vampire kingdom to talk and develop a solution to prevent their impending loom.

The Queen wants to talk with the Alpha alone, thus, the vampire council, the beta and the other pack members stayed out of the room.

The alpha, with his usual cocky grin and nonchalant attitude greeted the Queen.

"Oh hello there sexy. It has come to my attention that you needed my body. Is that right?"

Dahyun rolled her eyes with the good-for-nothing Alpha's remark. Doubting if it is really the best decision for both of their kingdoms. They are like water and oil, they can never be joined.

She had known Jungkook, the current Alpha, even in her younger years. The relationship between their race had improved because of their parents' civil manner in resolving the two races' million years conflict. They often invited the old Alpha, the Luna and their only son to some important vampiric events to show solidarity. Yet she does not trust the current Alpha. He does not have the seriousness and the air of gallantry easily seen in the old Alpha. Can she really trust this air-head of an Alpha?

"Be serious for once. This concerns not only my kingdom but yours as well. The human race in connivance with the witches do not only want to divulge our tale-old secret, they also want to reign supreme. Our supernatural ability pose as a threat to their ambition."

"I know that. But what can you suggest, Vampire Queen?"

"If there is only a choice, I will not do this, believe me, but my advisors deem that it is best for both our kingdoms to have a union."

"By union, you mean?"

A blush crept her face. "A union between you and I, a marriage if that is what you want to call it."
