PROLOGUE

I really can't believe that I am baby sitting the child of my best friend— Ylona, and where she is? In a goddamn mission.

How could be my boss that heartless? Ylona just gave birth to her child Ysmael 2 weeks ago, she still needs to rest and I could catch the mission just for her to take a rest.

But our boss insist, napakamaldito.

"Stop crying Ysmael, it's already 3 in the morning and you're still awake." Pakiusap ko kay Ysmael habang kalong kalong ko siya na parang papakinggan niya naman ako.

Inuyog ko pa siya at kinantahan ng kung ano anong kanta, pero wala pa rin. Umiiyak pa rin siya.

And then I heard a noise from the door of the bedroom where we are in, tila may nagbubukas noon kaya dali dali kong binaba si Ysmael sa crib niya at mabilis na kinuha ang bag ko kung saan naroon ang lisensiyadong baril ko na may silencer.

Dahan dahan akong lumapit sa pinto habang nakahawak ng mahigpit dito.

Pagbukas ng pinto ay alerto kong itinaas ang baril ko, pero agad ding ibinaba iyon nang mapagtanto kung sino ang pumasok.

"Paranoid." Amira tsked.

"Just ready and alert." I said and chuckled.

"No, you're not kasi iniwan mo ngang bukas ang pinto ng condo ni Ylona." She talks while I put my gun back into my bag and pick Ysmael again because he is still not done crying.

"Well I did it because Ylona left her spare key, at baka makatulog ako at hindi ko marinig kung magdodoorbell siya."

"Okey, if you say so." Sambit pa ni Amira at lumabas ng kwarto.

Maya-maya lang ay ibinaba ko na ulit si Ysmael sa crib niya dahil tumigil na siya sa pag-iyak.

Lumabas ako at hinanap si Amira, but guess what I found?

"Hmm, so Grape and Ivy is also here huh." I said while going downstairs and looking at the women in the sofa.

"Yeah, Ylona called us dahil baka raw hindi ka patulugin ni Ysmael. Para may kapalitan ka." Ivy said and playfully smiled at me.

"Well, should I say thank you?" Sambit ko ng tuluyang makababa ng hagdan at umupo sa floor mat na nasa tapat ng sofa.

"You're welcome." Grape replied and then smirked.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and then stand and walks into the kitchen where I found Amira while she's cooking our favourite.

"Sour & Spicy Shrimp, god I missed that." Sambit ko habang nilalanghap pa ang niluluto niya.

"You know, I've been busy with my mission last time in Brazil that's why I missed cooking this too." Yeah, we are all busy because of our missions.

"And you do know what's the best partner of this dish, right?" And then she winked at me.

"Yeah, yeah right." I replied and then hurriedly walks into the ref, but I felt a little disappointed.

"There's no canned beer here, I'll go to the ministop nearby." I shouted at her and then she give me a thumbs up sign while busy cooking.

Pumunta ulit ako ng kwarto para tignan si Ysmael na mahimbing pa rin ang tulog at para kunin ang bag ko bago dali-dali na bumaba.

"Where to go Dove?" Narinig kong tanong ni Grape.

Nilingon ko sila ni Ivy at sinenyasan na saglit lang, at tinuro ang second floor para ipaalala sa kanila si Ysmael.

Tinanungan lang nila ako kaya naman lumabas na ako ng condo, at agad sumakay sa elevator papuntang ground floor.

Nang makarating ay lumabas agad ako at naghanap ng ministop na malapit, and luckily I found one kaya agad akong pumasok dito.

Hinanap ko agad ang liquor department, hindi naman ako nahirapan dahil may nakasulat sa taas.

Agad nahagip ng mata ko ang mga canned beer na nasa malaking ref pa, akmang bubuksan ko na sana ang pinto ng ref nang may naunang humawak sa hawakan noon.

Para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig nang nag angat ako ng tingin kung sino iyon.

No, this isn't happening…

"Avea..." My heart is like a horses that racing because of how it beat so fast, like I am suffocating.
