One particular pair of shoes it all I need. I don't need five thousand different types of shoes like other girls. I only need one pair, which is converse.
My parents who force me to do ballet against my will, hate the fact that I do ballet in converse but really, I don't care. I'm not considered graceful, they force me to do ballet while I'd rather be riding my skateboard with the guys.
Ballet is shit, why did it have to be ballet? Why not basketball or soccer? I wish at high school they let girls play football otherwise, I would definitely being playing football but sadly they don't let girls play. Sexist much, isn't everyone these days?
I glanced at my alarm clock to see it was 6:54 a.m. Shit, I start school in 6 minutes! I rushed to my closet to slipping on a black tee shirt and dark skinny jeans. I laced up my black Chuck Taylor high tops and grabbed my iPhone out of it's charger. I shoved books and homework in my backpack along with my earphones and charger because I have ballet rehearsal after school. I grabbed one of my snap backs off the hooks of my wall and my skateboard before I darted down the stairs to the kitchen.
"Morning!" I shouted grabbing a banana heading out the door.
"Whoa wait, not so fast Tyler." My father called out. I sighed walking back in heading to the kitchen to see my dad reading the newspaper.
"Yes Dad?" I asked eyeing him as I stood on my heels.
"Your mom and I got you a present," He informed pushing a shoe sizes box wrapped in black towards me. I sighed knowing what it was, it was ballet slippers.
"I don't want ballet slippers Dad, my converse are the only shoes I need." I remarked shoving the box back running out of the house jumping onto my skateboard heading over to my best friend's house.
"Yo David!" I shouted darting up the porch fishing the house key that he gave me opening the front door to his house. "David you home?"
"I'm in here Ty," He replied from the kitchen as he carefully concentrated on making a sandwich. I leaned against the post watching him as he carefully spread mayo on his bread.
"Would you hurry up, we are late and my parents are already pissed off enough with me for being late so many times." I complained eyeing him.
"Fine, jeez Ty, don't need to be so bossy." He muttered grabbing his backpack and car keys heading out the door.
Another day of hell was waiting for us just a few blocks away. Actually no, my hell was awaiting for me after school for two whole hours that waste of my time.
The bell to first period rang causing David and I to scram into our Chemistry class. It was weird thinking we are in different grades but the only class that we don't have together is English and our sport.
David was a year older than me and was a Junior this year while I, was a Sophomore but we were both born young compared to our other classmates. Technically, David could be a Sophomore and I could be a Freshman. But yeah, my mom signed me up in honors science which I barely passed and here I am as a Sophomore in a class of mostly Juniors.
"And you were giving me a hard time we were going to be late," David whispered causing me to punch his shoulder and roll my eyes. He is such an ass sometimes.
"I woke up late so I didn't know if we would make it in time. The next tardy I get, I'm grounded for a whole month which means no skateboarding or video games." I reminded him of last time that I was grounded for stumbling into my house after getting wasted at a party I went to that night.
"I know, you don't have to remind me of those dark, lonely days." David complained trying not to shiver thinking about those days we barely saw each other outside of school.
"Hey it'll be fine, we made it to school on time so I'm alright." I informed taking out my black chemistry notebook to start copying notes.
"Hopefully, I don't want to go through that again, that was hell." David confessed copying down notes in his blue notebook. That was hell made me think I have ballet rehearsals later today, fuck.
"You won't have to go through hell again, I promise." I said give him a nod before we started to copying our chemistry notes.
Finally, the first period bell rang dismissing the class. David and I packed our backpacks before heading to our second period which was Photography. Photography was David and my favorite class.
"You ready for photo?" David asked glancing over at me.
"Why wouldn't I be?" I asked checking my phone to see my older annoying sister texted me.
"Haha did Mia text you?" David asked eyeing me curiously.
"Yeah, said she'll pick me up after school today and blah blah shit." I muttered trying to not tell David I was going to ballet rehearsals.
After photo ended, is the only period that David and I don't have the same class, English. I'm in English 10 and he is in English 11 so for one whole period everyday, we were separated for 50 minutes. It was hell most of the time and I never really liked English.
Bell to end English rung meaning it was snack break. I headed to my locker to see David already waiting for me there.
"Hey David,"
"Hey Ty, how was English?" He asked casually leaning against the lockers.
"Fine, how about your English?" I asked only to have David smile mischievous at me. "What happened Slick?"
"Oh nothing just hit it on with Melissa." He grinned giving me a high five. Melissa was the Varsity head cheerleader. And David loved messing with her and hitting on her.
"Is she wrapped around your finger now?" I laughed as we sat down with the guys. David chuckled before grabbing my textbook from under my arm carrying it with his like he always did.
"Hey look who finally showed up, Thing 1 and Thing 2!" Randy yelled.
"Sup Randy?" David asked slipping his backpack off his shoulders and setting our books down.
"I heard a rumor that Melissa thinks you are asking her out to homecoming, but that can't be true since you are taking Tyler." Randy stated shaking his head in disbelief of the silly little rumor.
"Actually I've been considering asking her as a joke." David piped causing me to spit of my drink.
"Isn't that a bit extreme, won't people actually start assuming you guys are dating?" I asked eyeing him carefully hoping it was just a joke and he wasn't really planning to ask Melissa to Homecoming.
"I don't know, we will see and if I do I should ask her soon, Homecoming is like in two weeks or something isn't it?" He asked peering over at me like I magically knew when our dances were this year.
"Umm I have no idea how about asking Randy?" I suggested pushing him the other direction where Randy was sitting. That's when the bell interrupted us.
