The elevator call

Two twin anthropoid gray raccoons named Kade and Kody Wilde were in the game room at the fire house playing pool when suddenly the alarm went off and a male voice said "rescue 349 and medical 349 elevator distress call from 434 West 33rd street unknown number and species of occupants."

They both put down the pool cues and ran for their equipment truck. Their partners Judy Cooper, an anthropoid Blue Merle Australian Shepard, and Tara Omoto, who was an anthropoid lynx, were already in the garage putting on their rescue gear. Their cousin Sandy Wilde and her team were already on the road going towards the call.

As soon as they arrived Judy looked at Kade and said "So who do you want to do the climbing today?"

"I think it's mine and Kody's turn to climb." Kade replied as he ran the the harness compartment.

Sandy ran over to them and said "I was just inside talking to the person at the desk. They said that the elevator is stuck between the third and fourth floor."

"Okay thanks." Kade replied then turned around and ran inside after grabbing a climbing harness and a crow bar.As soon as he reached the elevator on the first floor he pried the doors open and yelled up into the elevator shaft "Is everyone Okay up there!"

He heard a female yell back "Yes but please hurry I am starving is the pizza here yet?"

Kade scratched his head in confusion and then yelled "I'll check!" he then looked at Cody and pulled him aside and said quietly "Let's get the police out here since we don't know if she actually ordered a pizza or if there are weapons in the elevator."

"I agree." Kody replied as he left the area. "We're getting the cops out here to be on the safe side." he then pulled out his cell and called his uncle and said "Hey Uncle Steve Kade and I are here on scene of a stuck elevator with Judy and Tara we have a female asking us for pizza so can you send us a couple of cops in case it's code? None of us wants to climb until we get someone else here anyway."

"Okay I will send Tim and Riley code three and two other units code two in case they need backup." Steve replied

"Okay thanks." Kody replied then ran back to the group. "OK it sounds like we have three police units in route one code three and two at code two." Kody said quietly as his phone buzzed. He quickly checked it then said just as quietly "It's Tim he is a block and a half out and will be here within a few minutes."

As soon at Tim and his partner and wife Riley arrived to the call Tim walked over to Kade and asked "So what do we have?"

"Well while Kody was calling you guys I have been getting a little more information. We have five people stuck two of them are anthropoids. One of the humans possibly has a weapon because he is not trustworthy of anthropoids." Kade replied.

"Do we know what species it is saying their scared and want's cops on scene?" Tim asked

"No hopefully you can see about any cameras." Kade replied.

"Hey Phoenix can you please project an image of inside the elevator on the wall please?" Tim asked.

"Sure. There is a networked security camera inside the elevator car that I can access." Phoenix replied and a few seconds later the projector on Tim's helmet displayed the camera footage onto the wall.

"Good thing you called us I do see two people with weapons a third obvious female anthropoid who you've been talking to and a fourth innocent human male person. We'll take all three human men into custody until we get their stories figured out in case one weapon swapped hands between the three of them. "

Riley looked at Tim and said "Good idea it sounds like the four rabbit sisters are still three blocks away at maximum."

"Ok tell them if they are not code three to change to code three." Tim replied then looked at Kade and said "Come with me we need to go to the best floor to get the female out and hopefully she can help us with what's going on and who is getting arrested."

Kade pressed the transmit button on his radio and said "Kody I need you to climb down to the top of the elevator car and get that woman out so Tim or Riley can talk to her. If you can and need get her strapped into my climbing harness."

Tim then ran up to the next floor and said "Before you climb down there you should take my taser we saw two people with weapons through the security camera." Handing Kody his taser. "Oh and one more thing I want to talk to that woman before we free the trapped men. She could help us with whose getting arrested and who isn't."

He then walked over to where Judy and Tara were standing and said "I know this is off subject but I am planning a small party this weekend for Memorial day and your invited."

"Oh what time?" Judy asked just as Kody started yelling something. Tim drew his firearm while walking quickly to the elevator shaft. He looked down and saw Kody helping the woman climb out of the elevator car.

As soon as he saw that Tim holstered his firearm and said "I almost thought you were getting attacked." Then he looked at the woman and said "When you get out of the elevator shaft go talk to my partner. We need to get information from you."

As soon as the she was out of the elevator shaft Tim pointed to Riley and said "That fox over there is my partner."

"Thanks my name is Abby and I was hoping that the fire department would do that." She replied before Jogging over to Riley.

Tim then helped Kody out of the elevator shaft and said "Once we get the info we need and the Sanders sisters get here use the firefighters key to bring it down to the first floor and we'll take who we need to into custody." Abby ran over to Riley while Tim helped Kody out of the elevator shaft. "Hey you three down there we're working on getting you three our but we are having trouble with our firefighters operation key!" Tim yelled down then looked at Kody and said "that should buy us time." Tim then turned around and went back down to the second floor where Kade was. As soon as he reached the landing between the two floors Riley sent him an image with someone circled and said "We're arresting the other two on threats and hate speech The guy that's circled is a friend."

"Okay. Do you know how far out the sister's are?" Tim asked

"Only one block out I can see them through the window." Riley replied

"Sir unfortunately for you and your cousin I can confirm shots fired. It looks like Abby's friend was shot in the head point blank." Phoenix said.

"Get those doors open really quick please I have a feeling that the elevator was sabotaged." The said looking at Kade and then said in his mic "Hey Riley can you please look down the elevator shaft to see any possible jams? I think we had been called to a murder plot."

Kody pried the doors back open for Riley who turned on her flashlight that was built into her helmet and looked around the elevator shaft then replied "Not unless it's something jamming the bottom of the elevator car."

Tim turned his flashlight on to get a better look at the bottom of the elevator car. "Looks like something was wedged into the underside of the car. Riley I need you to take Abby back to her place and I need all paramedics and firefighters from our location out. I'll get another department to come help." Tim said.

"Should I tell her?" Riley quietly asked.

"If you don't I'll just wind up calling her later to tell her." Tim replied

"Okay guys let's leave the equipment and go. Our job is done we'll come back for the equipment when we get the all clear." Kade said and ran out the door. He stopped when he saw Sandy leaning on the side of the ambulance. "Hey we're going to get human paramedics and firefighters out here this became way too dangerous. Take your team back to the station."

"I agree and will do." Kade said then called Kody over his radio. "Bring what you can and the girls. We need to leave now. This is now a human situation we'll come back to get any left behind gear when it's safe to do so."

"We copy. We're on our way down now." Kody replied following Riley and Abby down stairs

"What about us?" Sandy asked over the radio

"Pack up and go back to the station we have human paramedics on the way as well." Kade replied.

"Okay see you back at the Station." Sandy replied as she got into the drivers seat of the ambulance.
