Lokius C5
A few hours later and Loki found himself laying on the sofa with his feet in Mobius's lap, watching some strange Midgardian movie, picking at grapes and cheese while Mobius looked through files. He wasn't even sure how he had found himself there, they had been eating, and talking and there had been a few more kisses. Loki wasn't even sure if he had put his feet in the other's lap or if Mobius had moved them there himself. Either way, it was comfortable. His headache was finally starting to fadeaway, he was feeling better and stronger than he had in some time. No doubt due to the unlimited portions of good food. The only other thing he craved, well other than ripping Mobius's clothing off and fucking him here on the sofa, was a good glass of wine to wash it all down. However, he didn't think he would be permitted the weakness of more alcohol for a while after last nights Thor worthy bender.
"How are you liking the movie?" Mobius asked from the pile of papers he was laying over Loki's lower legs as he researched.
"I am not sure why everything has to be done in song." Loki commented.
"It's a musical, that's just how it is done. You talk out the difficult words and the things you can't say in song because it doesn't seem so tough. You should try it."
"I don't think singing a three-minute number would come anywhere close to making my life seem better."
Mobius looked up from the files, "How are you feeling about last night?"
"The hangover is easing."
"That is not what I asked."
"Embarrassed, it is much more my brother's level of stupidity to make a drunken fool of himself. I should apologise."
"Nothing to be embarrassed about nor to apologise to, but you are still deflecting my actual question."
Loki sighed, "Drained, it is a lot to take in. That I will never see her again. Part of me, I always hoped that we could find a way to be a family again. Even after Odin's betrayals. I only ever wanted to be Thor's equal."
Mobius stroked Loki's arm to calm him, "Give it a little time."
"Have you ever lost anyone?" Loki asked, "Other than the other me."
"You saw the files, the TVA created everyone of us. We have no past, no one to miss."
"Then why did you fall for the other me?"
Mobius put down the papers, thinking about the question before he answered. "He wasn't you; he came from a different branch of the timeline. One where Thor had pulled him back off the Bifrost, where you never fell into darkness and never tried to rule Midgard. One where you never met Thanos."
"Thor saved me?"
"Not exactly."
"What does 'not exactly mean'?"
"It means that your self-destructive thoughts grew worse, and you kept trying to harm yourself. Even when you were here in the TVA. If anything, they because worse after what was done to you/him here. I patched him up several times. In the end, he wasn't pruned. He took his own life. I tried to hold his flesh together while the medics tried to save him after he slit his wrists." Mobius took a few deep breaths and closed his eyes, "All I remember from that day, was there was so much blood. It was everywhere."
Loki pulled his legs out of the pile of papers not caring that he was scattering them all over the floor, so he could hug Mobius. "I'm sorry."
Mobius laid his head on Loki's shoulder, taking ragged breaths as he tried to hold back the tears. "I never told anyone what happened, or what we were to each other."
"When you look at me, do you see him or me?" Loki asked quietly.
Mobius froze in his arms. "I see both of you, I would like to know you better, much better. In time. Whatever this is, I think we both need to take it slowly."
Loki didn't answer, allowing himself to be distracted by the movie. "What is the point of this 'lovers' song'. Why doesn't the writer man just kill the man with the money and take the girl for himself?"
Mobius found himself laughing, "Loki, that is not the point of Moulin Rouge. The point is they can't ever be together, but they are trying to be. Even when life pulls them apart. And that song, is a reminder that they swore to love each other until the end, come what may."
"It would be so much easier to kill the rich man, take his money and then start a life together with that money."
Mobius wiped his eyes, "Loki, that's not how it is done on Midgard."
"Maybe it should be, do you have someone I can slay to win your heart?"
"Maybe another time Loki."
"The offer is there. I care for you."
"That almost sounded like an 'I love you' Lokes."
"I said nothing of the sort, just that I care for you." Loki pushed him away roughly.
"Hey, it wasn't meant in a bad way." Mobius stopped, looking down at a piece of paper that was laying in front of him. "Kabluee." He muttered.
Loki looked at him, "Did you hit your head mortal? You are not making any more sense than this dreadful movie."
"Hey, Moulin Rouge is a classic!" Mobius defended himself, "But no, I didn't hit my head. I think I might have an idea of how to find the variant. He left candy with a child, just before we pruned the timeline. I have it here, it was only sold for a few short years."
"Candy?" Loki questioned.
"You don't know what candy is?" Mobius stumbled over, "That explains why you are all brooding and moody. Candy is everything."
"Mortal, you try my patience!"
"Loki, I think if we cross reference the years that the candy was in production, with Ragnarök type events, we should be able to work out where he is hiding."
"And candy?"
"I'll get you some on the way."
"The movie?"
"I thought you didn't like it?"
"I don't, but we were watching that."
"We can finish it later."
"Promise?"
"I promise"
"Snuggles?"
"I thought you didn't like snuggles?"
"I might be open to suffering a few more, for your sake."
"Uh huh, God of Snuggles."
"I will kill you."
"The more you say that the less effect it has."
Loki grabbed Mobius by his throat, slamming him against the wall. Holding him there. "And how about now?"
"Loki."
"Yes?"
"Kiss me."
"It would be my pleasure."
