Till We Meet Again

The Present

"Mama!" uttered by a baby boy.

"Oh my! He just said Mama! I can't believe it!" said Hayley.

It has been 6 months since Hayley gave birth to Benedict. She has been dreaming of becoming a mother and a wife. 

"Ring...ring...ring..." Hayley's phone rings. 

"Hello? Oh, dear! It's you. Are you coming home?" spoke Hayley.

"Yes, dear I'm coming home but I'll be late for dinner," said by her husband.

Hayley was also happily married for two years already. She also has a permanent job and his husband as well. Everything was perfect. Atleast.

It's almost 3 o'clock in the afternoon and it's time for Benedict's milk. Hayley grabbed the baby and started breastfeeding him. Eventually, Benedict was full and fell asleep in her arms. Hayley gently put the baby in his crib and quietly sat on the chair beside the crib. She took her phone and started scrolling on her social media account until she saw a picture. Staring at it made her feel guilty at the same time empty. Hayley sighed and sighed and then turned off her phone.

"I need to prepare Benedict's meal for dinner," said Hayley.

Hayley prepared chicken soup for Benedict's dinner and for her husband too. Meanwhile, the telephone rings again.

"Ring...ring...ring.." 

Hayley run quickly to answer the telephone because the ring might wake Benedict.

"Hello? Who's speaking?" Hayley asked.

"Hayley! It's me Amber!" 

"Oh, Amber! What is it that made you call?" Hayley asked.

"Did you check your social media account?" Amber asked.

"What about it?" Hayley mumbled.

"I saw his picture there! Are you okay?" 

"Ye--aaahhh! " Hayley stuttered.

"Are you sure? He seems to be getting married."

"Yeah, I think so. Oh, I have to go Amber my baby's awake already."

Hayley lied to Amber about tending to Benedict. She was speechless and disappointed. Suddenly, a tear fell upon her face.
