Yedam and I are getting older, it seems. We've both come down with some sickness that is eating at our health. The doctors don't know what it is, so it seems like I know more about it than they do. All they can say is that it's some sort of bone condition. That was obvious.

I am completely bedridden. Any step sends an excruciating stinging and stabbing up my leg. I could use a wheelchair but that would take someone strong enough to lift me out of bed and then push me around. Yedam has the same condition so he can't do that. Maybe my nephew, Hyunwoo could, but he is getting older as well.

So until I die or they find a cure, I am stuck here. I've had a lot of time to think while laying here, but I think I've thought of everything. There's also only so much TV you can watch before you go absolutely insane from the media and twisted news stories.

The doctor also told me that my condition won't kill me, it will just continue until I die. Yedam is also getting worse, and I don't think it will be too long until he is unable to move as well.

Hyunwoo has tried to convince us to move in with him but we'll be gone soon so there's no use in wasting money and time. He already takes care of his father, too.

On the outside, I seem to have come to terms with death, but I don't want to go. I don't feel like I've lived my life the way I should have. I haven't spent enough time with Yedam, either.

"Honey," Yedam called. He just got back from the store.

"Yes?" I replied happily.

After all these years he still makes my heart skip a beat.

"How has your day been?"

"Same old same old. Just thinking about death."

He walked into the room and kissed my forehead gently.

"I'm sorry. Is there anything I can do?"

"It's getting late. Just lay here with me."

Yedam laid next to me and I turned to my side to look at him. It hurts a lot but I don't care. His face is wrinkled but he still has his cute nose and the same boxy smile. To me, he hasn't changed at all.

Somehow, I managed to drift into a light sleep and morning was on its way.

~~

I had learned to wake up without moving, just opening my eyes. This morning it was worse than usual. My eyes were starting to hurt when I opened them. Yedam was still in bed so I turned over and greeted him.

"Good morning, honey,"

He was already awake and smiling.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Worse."

"I'm sorry..."

I was even more sorry. He doesn't deserve to be stuck like this, he should be doing what he wants to do. Instead of worrying about me, I wish we could go on a picnic or at least go outside.

But the doctors say that it's best to stay inside, in case I get hurt and get an infection. Or in case the air would irritate my condition.

"I'm okay, you-"

"You're not okay, Sohee. Your condition is just getting worse."

"I have hope, Yedam. It will be okay, I promise." I smiled and held his hand. "And for today, I want you to have fun. Go out, see people."

"What if something happens to you?"

"I'll hold on until you get home."

"Are you sure?"
