Third person point of view:

3:03pm
Coward. Sorrowfully eyeing the overly long mirror you failed to hold in your cries. You're a disgrace. You dry-reached in disgust as an amalgamation of snot and salty droplets pooled down. Die with him. Your sickly paled cheeks failed to complement the rosiness of your puffed up nose as your night dark eye bags drooped. Why did you run? Your conscious spoke darkly as it mentally kicked the inner sides of your head. Your temple throbbed as you slightly swayed back and forth. You're not a sorcerer. You're a wimp. COWARD.

"SHUT UP" the sobbing flowed. Your bathroom items became victims as you pushed your belongings off the counter. "SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP" outstretching your fist backwards you focused towards the bathroom mirror. With ease the glass shattered as your fist connected.

Blood pooled, oozing from the side of your knuckles. Sharp cuts now decorated your hand. Letting out a slight hiss and sigh, you tried to calm down.

"I'm so sorry Itadori" you spoke to no one but yourself. The water works turned to trickles as your crying slowed. You breathed heavily, examining the mess.

A few moments of silence passed before a familiar comforting noise filled your ears "woof" accompanied by a soft creature brushing against your legs. It was Megumi's Wolf. The large dog nuzzled it's head further into your hip as it released a slight whimper. A sorrowful gaze presented on the dogs expression as he gently lifted his head to face yours.

Sensing the presence of his owner behind, you hesitantly turned around. You eyed the concerned classmate, observing from the arched doorway. "Hi Aiya, am I interrupting?" He presented himself with a gentle tone and sympathetic eyes. His usual spiky black hair laid flat on his head. He shared deep eye bags and a tired expression.

"No, I guess not" you shamefully stared at the cold tiles of the bathroom floor. Slight embarrassment bubbled in your stomach as he had a good look around. "How are you feeling?"

"Judging by the mess, I'm going to say better than you" he let out a low chuckle, failing to hide the concern furrowed in his brows.

The wolf continued to nuzzle into your hip, lowly wagging his tail as the two of you spoke. You outstretched your arms, stroking the top of its head.

"I can leave him here for a bit if you'd like?" Megumi insisted, kneeling towards the wolf. He also gently stroked his back causing a few hairs to shed.

"That's alright Megumi, I think I have some cleaning up to do" motioning towards the mess, allowing a small giggle to rise from your lips.

He sighed "Not with those injuries" reaching for your busted hand he began to examine the bloody knuckles. "I know this is nothing in comparison to what we've been through, but you still need to bandage this."

"Yeah, yeah I'll get to it" You waved him off before spinning the taller boy around. You pushed him from the archway of your bathroom towards the front of my dormitory's exit. "Now, let me be Fushi, and don't let yourself into my room again" scolding the boy.

"Don't leave your door unlocked then" he rebutted, obviously ignoring the dumb nickname. He rolled his eyes before facing you once more. In a lowered tone he sent a small smile with dimly lit eyes. "Take care of yourself, ok?"

Shielding your tears with a fake eye scratch you refused eye contact. "Okay" is all you managed to say through the battling sniffles threatening to form. The overwhelming sadness churned in your stomach as you slightly pleaded for Megumi to get the hell out of your room.

"Aiya, I know you might not want to hear this right now. But I want you to know, nothing was your fault" he began to outstretch his hand towards your shoulder but you had defensively stepped back. The boys eyes dulled immediately as you refused his comfort.

"Whatever" you sniffled before closing the door in his face.

You were angry at the universe, to introduce Itadori only to take him far away, you couldn't find peace with it. For in these days of missing him, you couldn't entertain the idea of another. You were determined to be as close to independent as it is for a soul to achieve. You hadn't known him for long, but it had felt as if it was meant to be.

This wasn't the first person you loved to lose. Maybe the fifth, even sixth. But this didn't mean it was getting any easier.

Forcing yourself from your slump you reach for your training attire. "I was going to become stronger, for you, Itadori"

Megumi's point of view

6:30pm
The girl is like a snapshot out of time. I can see her hair blowing in the spring breeze, her youthful face had aged tiredly over the last week. Though her feet are scarred she still fights. In that uniform she could be anyone, no-one. But to me she is the world itself and without her I don't believe I could be this strong. There is nothing I wouldn't do to keep her safe from harm, but I failed protect her.

I glared sorrowfully out my bedroom window as I continued to observe her train. Sprays of chipped rock slashed around her as she swung her Katana at various sized boulders.

Every memory of Aiya, my childhood friend, the good times and the bad, comforted me in times of need and lift me back onto both feet, I'm so angry I can't do the same for her.

Summoning my Devine wolf, I sent him down the stairs and towards the training field. He raced towards Aiya. The girl quickly caught site of hound and placed her katana onto the ground. Out stretching her arms for a hug. He gracefully pounced into her embrace as she clung his fury chest. I watched as she burrowed her head into him. Aiya's clutch tightening.

She quickly turned her attention towards the dormitory windows, scanning each room for my presence. It didn't take long before our eyes locked. Her beautiful orbs bored into mine, her grateful smile widened, allowing the wolf to lick her perked up cheeks vigorously.

"I LOVE YOU MEGUMI!" She yelled whilst waving.

A slight blush tinted my cheeks. Thankfully she was too far to notice. I could only pretend she meant it the same way I loved her, but I knew she didn't.

I sent her a gentle wave back before shutting my window completely, moving further away from her line of sight.
