By the time Artem hanged up his call, we were already left.

Artem slumped back on his chair, he sighed while muttering a suggestion he was told before, "Finding a partner ...."

Artem sent a voice message with his phone to his senior partner.

"Celestine, you previously suggested that I find someone to share my workload. Do you have a recommendation?" He asked.

Celestine quickly replied, "Depends on what kind of person you're looking for. If no one inside the firm meets your standards, I can look elsewhere."

Artem frowned and thought for a moment.

"I'm not asking for much. Someone with integrity and an indomitable spirit who doesn't submit to authority. In regards to ability ... someone who shows potential. They need not be like me. I need a mirror, not a clone."

It's rare for Artem to sent so many messages, yet there was no response.

"No one ...?" He made sure.

Artem put away his phone and was about to return to his works when Celestine responded.

"And that's not asking for too much Artem, get your head out of the clouds! You don't just find someone like that unless fate brings you two together!"

Listening to Celestine's tirade, Artem frowned again and sighed. His gaze landed upon a personal file of a certain person on his table. He took the document, lifting it up as his slender fingers ran along its spine.

"Fate ... brings us together ...," He muttered.

We had followed Winnie to Penny's Comfort Foods and unexpectedly encountered Luke, a close friend of Mariene who she had not seen for eight years.

"The private detective that Winnie was talking about... It's you, isn't it!?" She exclaimed. "National Central University's top bioengineering student is working not as a scientist, but as a private detective!?"

"Bioengineering?! Wow, that's amazing! My parents would be very proud if I could graduated bioengineering instead of the major I'm currently in," I muttered the last part looking away.

"Indeed. I know you're surprised, but becoming a detective was my childhood dream. I finally made it a reality!" He declared proudly.

"I'm at a loss for words ...," Mariene said, mouth slightly agape, completely astonished by her childhood friend.

"Me too." I sighed. "If only I had the ability for it, I would love to become one." Once again, I muttered a line for myself while averting my gaze.

"So, the lawyer that Winnie was looking for is you?" This time, it's Luke's turn to ask the question. "Looks like you made it into Stellis. University's law school, just like you wanted." He smiled proudly but Mariene was still too shocked to process what Luke was saying.

"Yep, it's her." So Winnie had to answer for her. "To think that you two know each other." She looked at the two of them, but she didn't seem to think further on the matter, and didn't ask any more questions. "Grandpa Vern lives upstairs. He should be home right now. Let me check." Winnie knocked on the door while Mariene hurriedly collect her thoughts and focus on the job at hand.

However, Luke continued to look at her with a smile on his face, his gaze unwavering and I only eyed the couple curiously from the sideline.

"Stop staring at me already ...," She said bashfully.

"It's been so long, but you haven't changed a bit," the boy replied, still with the smile on his face.

"No way, it's been eight years. Something has to be different. I'm at least a little taller!" She insisted.
