My name is Jessie, and I live in a world of silence. I don't choose to, it's what almost everyone in the world must do. Years ago, there were big problems with bullying. There were so many kids commiting suicide or turning to drugs to escape the pain that, at the rate things were going, the human population would be wiped out in about 30 generations. Yea, it was that bad. Plus the government seemed to think it would be easier to have control over people if they could control what we say. The government had been getting a lot of blame for what the kids were doing. And of course, the government can't be blamed for this (at least in their eyes.)So that's when the Unspeakable Laws were made. Basically, everyone in the world is given 1,000 words in their whole lifetime. And once you hit 1,000 no matter how old you are, they take you to some government lab and completly remove your ability to speak. But it seems the government has slipped up. Because just last week, I found out something about my friend Luke. He's able to do something that isn't allowed. I need to talk to him again, see how he's able to do it. Maybe I'll get lucky. I don't talk much. I'm quiet even by today's standards. But I think I might have found someone worth using some of my 1,000 words for.
