Kelly hated it here. She couldn't even go outside to hangout with her best friend. Her mother had told everyone that she had a disease that she was suffering from since she was born called Severe combined immunodeficiency. From then, she is forced to stay inside the home she shares with her mother.
She has been living her life inside for a long time now, she is 17 years old..
Kelly's mother is quite rich, they have a big house and everything but her mother is strict, she lets Kelly have her device only for a few hours or even a few minutes sometimes.
Everyday she has to take her medicine 3 times, one in the morning, another one after she ate and last one at night.
Her mother hired a lady to be her doctor. The lady claims to be a professional, but really isn't.
Kelly does not know what they put in her medicine, but she still takes it as her mother is forcing her to..
Luckily, she has this best friend, Loren, who is her neighbour. Loren stands up for Kelly a lot. How did they meet? Well, Kelly's mother is friends with Lorens mother, so therefore they decided to become friends.
Kelly's mother had already told Loren and her mother that Kelly has a disease (SCID) and she can not go outside. So Kelly and Loren always get paper and write to each other and show it on their windows to communicate in some way.
Kelly's friend, Loren, isn't as rich but she isn't poor, she has a decent size house but has a lot of family problems so she isn't at her window to see Kelly at all times...
At 19:30 after she had taken her medicine, she felt really dizzy but managed to fall asleep.
The next day, she heard banging and lots of shouting. Kelly woke up and looked out of her window. Loren wasn't in her room. Kelly looked out her other window, Loren was outside walking past her house.
Kelly had noticed something weird. There was an old looking man who was following loren with a sharp knife in his pocket, Loren had stopped to text someone as the man slowly took his knife and tried to approach Loren and stab her.
Kelly knew she had the disease, but she had to go save her best friend..
Kelly sprinted downstairs and was ready to open the door and finally be free and save her best friend.
Kelly's mother had ran after Kelly saying "Kelly! Don't you dare step one foot outside! You have SCID!! YOU CAN DIE KELLY! DO YOU HEAR ME?!" Kelly didn't care, she stepped out of the house and jumped onto the man with the knife, she took the knife away from his hands and threw it away.
And right there, Loren had seen that Kelly had just saved her life.
"Kelly! Omg no way! Why would you come out of your house just to save me knowing you have a disease!?" "Do you know what can happen to you now?!" Loren yelled.
"um yes, sorry it looks like I won't last any longer.." Kelly replied.
Kelly's mother had rushed outside to Kelly,
"Kelly, it's time you know the truth.." her mother sighed.
"What do you mean? What truth mother.." Kelly had said, crying.
Kelly's mother had said the truth..
the truth was, Kelly had no disease and was perfectly fine, her mother just wanted to get money. That's why they were so rich.. All that medicine was fake, it was actually edible candy with no flavour..
Kelly was absolutely devastated.
But now, Kelly is 30 years old, living a happy life all the way in a different country with a whole new family..
Kelly had realised she could barely trust anyone now.
