-Amara
All over the place,
Those are the only words I could use to describe the party.
Music blasting from all corners of the house, sweaty bodies dancing to Partynextdoor, and people that I'm pretty sure I don't know raiding our fridge.
That is what I immediately see once I arrive downstairs to look for my bother Malik
"Mara!" someone screams
I look to my left in confusion but can't see anyone
"Hey, Amara over here!" I hear the voice call again but this time it sounds more familiar
and that's when it clicks and I slowly turn my head in the direction of the kitchen
A small smile makes its way to my lips when I lock eyes with my longtime friends Reiss and Marcus
My feet start taking off in their direction and before I know it I'm leaping into Marcus' arms embracing him in a warm hug and then pulling Reiss in for a tight hug as well
"Oh, my fucking gosh! I promised myself I'm not gonna tear up when I see all of you but I can't help it." I say while dramatically wiping a fake tear
"Still dramatic as I remember," Reiss says while rolling his eyes
Making Marcus and I giggle
"And you're still annoying as I remember." I shot back
"When do you two ever stop arguing? cause as much as it's entertaining, this shit is also tiring to watch." Marcus says
"You'll be fine, we keep you entertained." I say while teasingly patting his cheeks
"Fuck off." he grunts making me laugh at how easy it is to annoy him
"But for real though I really missed your big head." Reiss says
"yeah I honestly didn't think I would miss your annoying ass but I guess after not seeing you for almost five years I was wrong" Marcus adds
"Awww look at you two admitting you missed me, but if we are being honest here I missed you two more than you could imagine especially the moments where we would stay up late to talk shit about people." I admit
"Deadass, I feel like if people ever found out what we said about them we would be 100% canceled cause the stuff we used to say was so outta pocket."
I laugh at reiss' words
He wasn't wrong though
The shit we used to say was a violation
As I was about to respond to him I feel a warm hand land on my exposed shoulder
"Hey boys." I hear Yasmine greet the boys
"Wassup!" they say in unison
"Nothing much I was just looking everywhere for this one." she says looking towards me
"If you two don't mind can I borrow her real quick I need mara's help to look for something?" she asks
"Yeah no problem, we'll catch up with you later Amara." Reiss says
I nod as I watch them walk in the opposite direction as Yasmine yanks me across the room
After a few seconds of trying to avoid bumping into people, we finally make it to the staircase that leads to the upstairs bedrooms one of them being mine
"I have looked almost everywhere in the kitchen for a bottle of Róse but I couldn't find it and when I asked Jamilla where she kept it she said you kept the last few bottles in your room and only you know where you kept your keys so ouvre la porte jeune femme (translation: 'open the door young lady')
"Your starting to sound more like mom as we get older." I say while grabbing the keys from behind the fake plant decoration that's right near my door
Yasmine just rolls her eyes as she strolled into my room to look for the drink
As I head to my closet to look for a more comfortable party dress to change into I hear Yasmine shout " I got it, thank you bitch!"
I giggle as I hear the door to my room close
After a few more minutes of looking through my closet, I finally found the perfect thing
The cute sunset dress paired with the orange strapped heels seemed to do the job
After glancing at myself in the mirror a bit more I lock my room again and finally head back downstairs to the party
Focusing more on my feet so I don't accidentally slip and embarrass myself I forget to watch where I'm actually going which results in me bumping into a tall frame
"Oh shit I'm so sor-" i quickly start to apologize but all of a sudden my words are caught in my throat once I see who I absent-mindedly bumped into
"Amara?"
"Jadon?"
