In a apocalypse with Billie Joe (fanfic)

The day it started

Today started out as what seemed like a normal day, but the skies were grey.
I walked to school and I saw a man standing next to a tree. He must have been drunk or something because he kept walking in a crooked circle but he stayed close to the tree. His skin looked yellow and he had bloodshot red eyes.
I ignored him because I'm not the type to get in other people's business.
As I walked in the school, my bestest friend Benjamin (aka Ben) came up behind me and ninja attacked me.
Ben is the coolest person I have ever met in any school I've gone to. I moved a lot.
Ben can be perverted sometimes but he knows when to stop. I dont really know hiw to describe his looks but he always had to wear some type of hat, a hoodie, baggy pants that don't sag, and a pair of converse. In looks wise he had golden blonde hair that was long enough to hang out from his hat, Ivory skin tone, 5'9 just one inch taller than me, and he was pretty thin but not too skinny. But what do I care? Labels and looks shouldn't matter right? All that really mattered to me was who the person is on the inside.
"Hey Alex did I scare ya or what man?" Ben laughed knowing he scared me.
"Damn you ben! Dont do that! I almost shat my pants bro" I said jokingly.
"Oh man Alex, you're just too easy" Ben giggled.
"Yea yea shut up. Lets get to class man" I playfully punched Ban's arm.

~lunch time~

Ben didn't feel like eating school lunch today so he drove us to Jack in the box and ate there.
When we were done we walked over to the park with our free time. We saw people running around playing tag. Me and Ben layed in the grass being lazy and then we heard someone screaming.
I thought nothing of it because it was a girl, most girls scream over a worm thrown at them.
Ben got up to stretch
"Yo Alex we should get going. Lunch is almo...." Ben trailed off and took a step forward to get a good view of the people playing and running around the park.
"What'd you say bro?" I saw him studying the people and not answering me. I heard another scream, Ben took a step back almost tripping, he gasped and covered his mouth.
I turned around and saw a man running from a woman that was covered in blood and she tackled him.
